Ok I was just informed I am the lucky one who gets to hand deliver 14 notices of eviction tomorrow in the city of brotherly love! Too bad for me,all 14of them are in the "not so nice" part of town! Schucks! Was really lookin forward to turning 42 on 12-11. Well I guess I'll hope for the best cause I work for a bank in the maintenance dept. and this apperantly falls under my skills? So I was informed that I need to go door to door knock and hand whoever answers a letter stating they have until dec.4 to pack up and get out. Should go well I'm sure. Guess ill post tomorrow after the festivities have been completed. If that is I don't get shot or stabbed? Stay tuned for the next installment of how the f**k did I get this assignment! Guess at least it's not the week of x-mas,that might not go over so well

Do you need to tell them what the letters say or just hand them over? If the latter, I'd get the hell out of there before they have a chance to open it.

Me and 2 other guys from work once had to go "help" a Mom and her 2 kids move out of one of my bosses rental properties on her eviction day.

I know he gave her tons of chances and she never paid rent, but it was super uncomfortable. I tried to be gracious and respectful towards the woman but I still felt guilty and weird.

But then again, Im kind of a pussy. If youre not concerned about the emotional toll of evicting deadbeats then you probably do have the right skill set for this task. By house number 4 Id prob be in tears and inviting crackheads to crash on my floor.

Good luck man - I know all the bad parts of Philly. I would say just try to be nice. Let them know you are doing your job - just handing them out some paperwork. What they do with it is their thing.
