Question about Waterwheel Pre-show

Matt_Leaf Permalink
Matt_Leaf Do people who spend the extra $200 get first access to the GA floor?

I hope this is not the case because that would be a pretty crappy move.

happy_happy_allmyfriends Don't see the problem with this if people have extra $ and the $ goes to charity why would that be "Crappy"?

HARRYHOOD213 It does all go to a great charity and I am curious about how this event was out in San Fran. Is it worth the $200 - I would imagine for the print alone, its not a bad deal. Were there a lot of auctions and raffles in San Fran?

It would be crappy for somebody who got a GA ticket expecting to be able to get up close and then learned they actually had to spend another $200 to really be able to get that spot.

It's like changing the rules to a game after the game started.

I have no problem with the event; it's a great thing. I just don't think those who can afford to support it should get to "cut line".

It appears that people will be granted early admission with the Mockingbird pre party! Only people with GA tickets will be able to access the the floor. Just get inline like you would have and hope that of the 1000 party goers only a few have GA tickets! You will still be able to get to the front. I understand your frustration with the game changer but stay positive and you will find a good spot! Remember you got lucky to get tickets and even luckier to score GA Floor tickets!

Matt_Leaf To be clear, this isn't about me. I'm super psyched to JUST BE IN THE BUILDING.

I'm a principles guy, so this decision bothers me.

It's great that they are doing the fundraiser; just seems "unfair" since it was announced this late.

Drgordy It's 1000 divided over three nights so about 333 a night. So chances are pretty slim out of the 20,000 capacity a large number of people will have ga floor.

OK.

What about the other 1/3 of a person each night?

Drgordy They are selling tickets for the 28, 29, and 30th. There are only 1000 Welker prints. Everyone who attends gets a print. Therefore only 1000 tickets will be sold. 1000 divided over three nights equals 333.33.

its pretty sad that people are pissed about this kind of thing. Its a smart way for the band to raise money. can't afford it? get a better job. bitching that those who are willing to donate $200 to charity get first crack at good ga seats just makes you look like a fool.

Bullshit.

The shows were billed as GA on the floor and then that changed 1 month before the shows were scheduled to start. I will admit that I did not read close enough to realize it was only 333 people/night.

Your comment about getting a "better job" is incredibly naive and insulting to people who work.

NoFIller and out of those 333.33 people per night, i would be hard pressed to believe that more than 1/6 of those people have GA West tickets...So really, maybe 50 people at most will have early access to GA West...

My friend did the Waterwheel thing in SF and scored a sweet spot for our crew. There was a poster and a little reception but mostly people wanted to get in early, I think. At BGCC the whole place was GA so that perk made a little more sense. But yeah, basically, anyone lucky enough to have front floor tickets @ MSG who is pissed about others giving to charity, can stuff it...
