Did some money math with my son this morning before school. Traded lots of pennies for silver coins. They are doing a penny war at school. I don't know what that really entails, but he's using his own money for that stunt.

I went to sleep at 9:30 last night while listening to the MOE show @_________________________ had suggested. That's exactly what I needed! I woke up intermittently throughout the night for various reasons and my computer was still jamming out. I believe it's on repeat because that's exactly what I'm listening to now. Very chill material these guys are busting out.

Morning, .net. My face won't stop leaking. @TheEmu and I have been tossing some virus or bacteria back and forth. It's the second time in only a few months that we've both come down with pinkeye and now on top of that there's some upper respiratory shit going on. Ugh. Gonna call my doc and get us some eyedrops or something.

Going into the lab is a judgement call for me at this point. On the one hand, I don't feel THAT dreadful and would really like to get some experiments started. But I look pretty disgusting and if they call me out on the pinkeye, they'll probably get all grossed out and send me home. I was already planning on being there all weekend anyways so maybe work-from-home today and go in tomorrow when there's nobody else around to witness my hideousness. That sounding like the best plan at this point.

Hope you guys' faces aren't leaking too horribly.

Didn't really talk to him, just one of other guys in the band (James Love I think was his name) who was nice. And some cute chicks, too.

So far at this property (since April) I've also seen John Popper (twice), Shirley Manson (& Garbage), Gov't Mule, George Thorogood, and Yanni. I have no idea what it is about our property that makes it attractive for these music acts to stay with us. We're 30 minutes from either airport, probably 20 from Wolf Trap, 25 from the district. Plus, there are several much nicer hotels near by. Maybe we're the full service hotel that's willing to book them rooms for the lowest price, who knows. Random.

Have fun this weekend @dave25. Which college you heading to? And not for nothing, but I had some seriously good times in frat houses in college.

I got nothing fun coming up on the schedule for a few weeks. Boo. Maybe I'll try and rectify that. See what's going on tonight (I'm on kid duty tomorrow night so Laura can go see Tanlines with Supreme Cuts at Union Transfer - 2 bands I have never heard of and have no idea what they are like).

Thanks for the recommendation and I will certainly have to a listen! I have not had the pleasure of seeing MOE lie yet. I saw on another thread they announced a Snowshoe festival winter festival. I've never gone snowboarding or skiing either; however, my friends do, and go to jammy festivals, and have always been hounding me to give it a shot. How old is your kid, @twisty_m? Love movie and popcorn night! My son's still too young for it (1), but my daughter loves teh movies. She's been on a huge Shrek kick as of late (probably because we got her the box set with all the movies in there). I was putting her to bed last night and she's rubbing her lips with her blanket. When I ask, she says she's putting on lipstick.

When I ask why, she says she needs it so she can marry an ogre! Yep. My daughter apparently has a crush on Shrek. When I ask why she wants to marry Shrek - "because he can roar really loud, daddy!"

Well, when she puts it that way!! Marrying an Ogre sounds perfectly enchanting! My son is 8 years old as of last week! Movie nights with an 8 year old boy are pretty fantastic. He likes the typical super-hero boy films; he also loves black holes, supernovas, science, how things are made, and... well, all things space. So star wars is always on our top list of movies to choose from! He loves that show through The wormhole with Morgan Freeman, or something like that, and how it's made. Kid has a lot of questions about how the planets, stars, and humans were made too.

You have toddlers? They are the greatest little humans EVER! They are dramatic, irrational, innocent... I could keep going.
