Zeppelin on Letterman!!

mjrphishhead Permalink
mjrphishhead The surviving members of LED ZEPPELIN will appear on Dec. 3rd's episode of Late Night with Dave Letterman! Doesn't sound like they're performing but nonetheless...awesome news.

DrPeterVenkman Maybe Letterman can charm them in to a reunion tour and get Plants head out of Allison Krause's ass.

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Great share man. I will watch Dave that night.

Are they Zeppelin still though? Idk, not anymore; idk. Zep without bonham isn't Zep IMO.
Crazy led Zep fan here, encourage them to play play play, but are they Zep? Ijdk

How bout an expert opinion,

DrPeterVenkman I would consider that more of a reunion than what other bands are trying to pull off. It's his son, for me that goes a long way because he's blood, I know, silly, but that's my take. Let's take KISS, for example, they're out on the road with only TWO original members, I know at this point it's FAR from a reunion, but, it's not KISS without Ace and Peter.

JayDubya They were "Page and Plant" when I saw them in '95. It was essentially a Zep show.

I think it would be awesome if he ditched the musical act that night and just set up LZ stuff on the stage.

"Well, it's either we sit here and stare at each other for the next 7 minutes or you guys do what you were born to do. What's it going to be?"

Letterman is just the guy to do something like that.

Exactly. What the hell does HE have to lose? Push the envelope!

ledzepmaster The remaining band members are unfortunately 'off the train' with performing again. Even JPJ said so in an interview I read recently since the releasing of Celebration Day; they are done, sadly.

I just got my copy of Celebration Day, I've listened to the CD's but have not watched DVD's yet. I am excited to see what more they have to say about Celebration Day and whatnot.

That would be cool to see them play something but, they will most likely talk about Jason Bonham as it was a very emotional performance for him. A phenomenal one at that.

IMO, Jimmy can't play at those durations any more. Robert can't houl the same either. JPJ will always be the shining member to me.

Page and Plant was something you had to be there for, and I disagree with it as being Zeppelin. Page with the Black Crowes was closer than that, imo.

Also: lol robert

Fenris Time will tell concerning future playing with those guys. I must respectfully disagree that Page and the Crows was closer to a Zep reunion than Page and Plant was.

JMarks1445 Wait... Jimmy Page played with Black Crowes? Not hating on the Crowes, although I'm not big on them, but why? That just doesn't seem right. Why not play with these 4 guys from Vermont I know of? They even have a song dedicated to him.

Maybe he will debut a new song: "Finally Got Around To Answering Trey Anastasio's Letter."

Have you heard this cover from that tour?

Also, only Robert can sing like Robert did. Their Keyboardist is very under rated. In fact, he was the guy with Jeff Chimenti playing keys for the TRI Jerry 70th anniversary webcast.

I

I totally dig the Black Crowes with Page! Pretty much anything that Jimmy does is gold in my book. I was lucky enough to catch one show on the Page/Plant tour in '95 and it was one of my best experiences at a show ever. I would sell my soul to Justin Beiber for a US reunion tour.
