Well Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti are super dank too.

There all great for the most part

When the Levee Breaks is just to perfect of a last song. Its so bad ass
Score: 1

fishman4 Permalink
fishman4 When the Levee Breaks = best Zeppelin song ever. Even Fishman recalls beginning his drumming career because of that song. I forget where I read that, I just know I did somewhere.
Score: 2

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller I wore that cassette out twice. Absolute lovin. battle if evermore, levee, gtc and I mean stairway Is sick.

Houses of the holy, physical graffiti; I mean what a f***ing tear, 3,2,1 aren't slouches either, just unbelievable creation, just turn it on and every song is above average
Score: 0

Kurtzboy Permalink
Kurtzboy I defintely prefer II and Physical Graffiti. I've always thought IV was a great album, but I'm not a huge Stairway fan, even though I can appreciate it's epicness.
Score: 1

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller @Kurtzboy, I get what your saying and if I had to pick one song for Zep to sing it would not be stairway or Kashmir, but they are unbelievable songs comparable IMO to YEM and DS, or TOO & DS; epic epic
tunes.

I think I'd go with no quarter, or straight song remains the same both hoh tunes.
Score: 1

BernardShakey Permalink
BernardShakey It's perfect, it is the quintessential rock masterpiece. I could go on all day repeating what by now may seem trite, I really could, but put simply it is just one amazing song after the other. Every element of what makes Led Zeppelin a legendary band are present on that album; Blues rock that would lay down the blueprints of heavy metal, intricate acoustic textures that evoke Tolkien esque images, psychedelic tinkering of studio effects. Honestly you cant really go wrong with the first half a dozen Zepp albums.
Score: 1

The_Slothelot Permalink
The_Slothelot II and Physical Graffiti are both better albums.
Score: 0

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller Listening to dazed and confused as I type, just sick stuff so f***ing good man
Score: 0

mattk97 Permalink
mattk97 Im gonna go with Zep II as my favorite. Ramble On, Living Loving Maid, Moby Dick, Heartbreaker and perhaps my all time favorite Zep song, Bring it on Home.

My absolute favorite Zep song might be Ten Years Gone or Trampled Underfoot. My favorite Zep moment is defintely Bron-Yr-Aur, if you follow. I've just always been Physical Graffiti guy. I'm defintely not disagreeing with HOH's stance as a classic, though.

careful_w_that_axe_Miller How does he play the guitar with a f***ing bow? Awesome sounds. So awesome if I could imbed this I would. thespartacus47 - dazed and confused (song remains the same) 1080p

It's sick right at 12:30 of 28:57 jam worth a listen

Idk, it's a good collection of songs no doubt about it, but lacks the cohesion of their subsequent albums.

ledzepmaster I still feel Zep 4 is the best rounded album. Has all their styles (at that period) there.

Edit: f***ing You tube
All I know is this is unbelievably awesome. 29 min jam, shows off all of Zep unbelievable

@BernardShakey, Im with you, 1 is awesome to include this sweet little gem,

but 4-5-6/7 are unreal creations
Score: 2

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller Thank you @ledzepmaster, I know what I'll be listening to in about 22 min when I hear this again the whole way through. Dude, this is some sick stuff; I'm looking at track listing of 1 to refresh, and saying "ya that songs awesome, ya that songs awesome, ya that songs awesome, straight through"

I wouldn't want to argue either side, better just to say they (are) "extremely talented"

I can't quit you babe, so good
How many more times:

"Well they call me the hunter, that's my name.
They call me the hunter, that's how I got my fame.
Ain't no need to hide, Ain't no need to run.
'Cause I've got you in the sights of my..........gun!"

Physical Graffitti is their best album by amile. Kashmeir, in my time of dying, sick again, night flight, down by the seaside, the list goes on. also this second disc was pretty much all leftovers from previous albums.
Score: 1

ledzepmaster Permalink
ledzepmaster Physical Graffiti was their first album on their own record label (Swan song records), which is why it's a double album.

Night Flight! Such a killer song. So glad to see someone else recognize how f***ing great it is.

I love Zeppelin I. My favorite album. However, tomorrow that could all change as it usually does.

jonstolethings Permalink
jonstolethings Love Zeppelin IV as it got me hooked on the band back in the day. However I've been listening to Led Zeppelin (the box set that I had completely forgotten I had) quite a bit lately. Maybe a cop-out but it's got 54 songs of Zeppelin greatness

have you heard jeff buckley do it? a different take but still amazing.

BernardShakey Permalink
BernardShakey Jeff Buckley also does a nice version of "Farewell Angelina" by Dylan. Beautiful lesser-known Dylan song, if you havent already heard it. Jeff makes it trippy too if I remember well.
Score: 1

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller No one does a better "farewell Angelina" than Joan Baez. She also kills "Peggy-0" in her Dylan cover album, on vinyl it's sick goosebumps
Score: 1

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller I can't link it from my phone, but about the time the burg is on I'll put it up, really worth a listen if you've never heard it. I played the album continually for 3 months straight, 100% true

Ramble on is great as well

grntwalters Right now my favorite is II with IV coming in second (that will probably change, it always does). I love all their stuff and it's so hard to rank. Recently, I've been listening to III, so if you ask me next week, I'll probably say that one is my favorite. Led Zeppelin is such a great band and I'll be rocking out to them til the day I die!

Oh come on, I get it, but but those two songs can never sound bad! They always play at just the right moment for me, anyway. But I agree that the classic rock stations desperately need to play more deep tracks.
