I've been told that if you change your mind, you change the world - or at least the way you experience it. Let's take a moment to examine that. The presumption is, if you thought the world was a hostile, ugly place filled with awful people doing awful things, that is what you'd see. Your mind would naturally seek out confirmation for its preconceived ideas (e.g., if you're intent on buying a red car, as you go about your day you'll see lots of red cars). If, however, you were able to sincerely change your mind and see that we are all God in drag, that we are the conscious aspects of a perfect universe which had to create us so we could bear witness and stand in awe before its loving magnificence, then that is the soul-shaking reality you'd be greeted with each and every moment of each and every day. In other words, it is entirely our choice as to what kind of world we live in. With a simple decision, we can suffer in the darkness or play in the light. We can be angry, frightened and enslaved, or loving, joyous and free.I know. It's a toughie.

Someone once told me there is a philosophy that says the world is only what you perceive it to be. I have really come to understand this in this past year or so. I used to feel like everything else was making me unhappy, and maybe I didn't even want to feel happy anymore. Like I was somehow getting back at them by feeling angry at the rest of the world. I have come to realize that I was letting myself feel bad when I could have been happy. The only person I was "getting back at" was myself, no one else was suffering from my choices, only me. I try not to let other things get me down anymore and appreciate small moments. Choosing whats important. I'm not saying it's easy to choose positive outlooks, sometimes it can be really hard. Sometimes there are things you cant control in life and you feel so angry at the world, but you have to learn to let those feelings go at some point. I'm still working on it.

I suffer quietly; I compartmentalize. Our world is filled with ugliness and it is corrupt; however, that does not mean the people living on here are. I've lived in the ugly and I've witnessed the bad. But, I love freely, openly, and empathetically. I put myself in others shoes very well. I trust, I care, and I don't pass judgement. I wake up everyone morning, greeting the day with a "GM.net", and cuddle puddle pile with my son, and a giant ass cup of coffee. I love it all, cherish it all, and all of it is beautiful to me. I compartmentalize; but I am happy to live, breath, see color, smell the air, feel the sunshine on my face, and dance my happy-hippie ass off to Phish EVERY SINGLE DAY.
It doesn't have to be either or, my friend. If you are changing your mind then you are growing. That is all.

Do people really get a bill from the toll booth when you don't have change or an easy pass and there's not teller ? Pre ez pass days this happened to me and had no choice but to continue and never got a bill or shit... I'm a tad bit high ugh

It was horrifying. Traumatic actually. The guy I was with was pretty tripped out by it all. I went into some happy place, I must have. I remained calm, no words, no movement; Just let all the diseased aliens be pulled off of me one by one.
I pretty much hate all bugs. I am convinced they are aliens.
I had been sooooo itchy and scratching uncontrollably since 3pm that day when I started walking to the show.
Antelope played the next night but my friend, and a friend he knew decided to twist it up and say "run like a deer tick outta control." I honestly did not, and do not find that little jingle amusing.

2 years ago I went into my son's room to kiss him goodnight and above his bed, on his wall was a giant, 4 inch, 33 legged house centipede. I've never seen anything like it. I was scared for my life. Scared for my freaking life. A picture was snapped, and it died. Not of natural causes of course.
Man, I hope all these bugs don't haunt my dreams tonight.
edit: I am so sorry about all of your bug run-ins too. Legit. They are Hell on Earth.
