ANYWAY, I have a very personal connection with the Island Tour, as this was the first time in my life I discovered the band. I was nine years old, on line at Nassau Colesium with my dad. There was a huge line of people outside waiting by the entrance gates when we realized there were two events going on. I was headed downstairs with my dad for a car show, and everyone on line I found out was going to the show show. I remember him explaining to me that they were there for "some concert", (later in life understanding the disconnect that he had, being a Dead Head and never getting on the Phish train). But I also remembered all the people and the "really cool", at the time, graphics that the colesium had up on its message board for Phish... they still haven't improved much.
Cut to about last summer, nearing 20 shows of my own, I am on LivePhish redeeming my stub when I come across The Island Tour! It immediately brought back the memory of when I first learned of Phish's existence and I knew I had to download.
Being a native Long Islander I would love to see them play at my local arena, before they most likely tear it down in the coming years.
To anyone who was at the show, listened to the tape, or lives near by, or anywhere, please post anything you would like to share related to this time and event and the possible "rumor" or "hope" about the coming Spring that was sparked here today.
See you all at the New Years Run!
OP, I've drank beer older than you.
I remember holding a friends hand on the way across the parking lot of Nassau Coliseum on April 2nd, but it wasn't because he was underage and might get lost, it's because e was over-spun and trying to be found.
Those four nights were about as perfect as four nights in a row of Phish could be.
Great old building. A few live Phish releases, several live GD shows, and 4 Stanley Cups.
And along with Providence, one of the more "cozy" arenas in the northeast: low rafters, good sight lines, good sound. But in the 80s, Nassau had a horrible rep for its security goons. As bad as Brendan Byrne/Meadowlands. I hope the concert security has mellowed.

I wish
Saw so many great GD and Phish shows there, including the Island Tour.
I would love to see Phish "close out" that building like Pearl Jam did with Spectrum a few years ago.
Run of shows> Demolition
He likes to make comments like the latter. A lot.
A few years back a talk show guy gave out some DMB caravan dates that he clearly got from antsmarching.org. Now I hate that forum in general but they completely owned that guy. Called him out on youtube, facebook, and called into the show. (the dates weren't even right) Anyways, it was similar to what phans did to the writer from Vermont during the disaster relief show.
Best. Twist. Jam. Ever.
I'm such a broken record about that specific twist jam. But, It's my truth.
I would love to be able to travel up there for a 3.0 Island tour. It would be epic.
Bader Field could have used a fourth night in my opinion- I didn't want to leave; I never want to leave. I'm always in denial when the encore shows up, just out of nowhere.
He was talking about next summer and touring, and then kinda went into a "well wouldn't it be nice if..." and brought up the spring tour idea and was kinda toying with it by saying something like... "I don't know, I'm getting a feeling that something like that might be in the mix" (as to a Spring tour) and then he specifically mentioned "Reunion of the Island Tour".

bring them back to the spectrumSpectrum and JFK, makes me feel like a ghost thinking about the good times had in those buildings
I also heard this last night and it definitely sounded like pure speculation to me. However, I did get excited as well so can't blame you there. He also said they are recording a new album and will have a ton of new material next summer. Why not this NYE?
