Off to bed. The 90's will live on tomorrow though.
But I'll put together a playlist for the gym in the am:
W/ lyrics which are disturbing ha
My last 32 days in song hooray, I can give Myself a chip right?
Awesome tune, disturbing pics to include the famous lover of young boys bill Burroughs
Last one. You tube huh? Wow. That's amazing, love finding music I thought I lost.
@jimmymac03, sorry man I got bored
I always loved that early 90s feel- not so much the style but the gloomy, whispy vibe. I used to think it was what my 20s would feel like. What I got was a living Ipod commercial- squeaky clean white backgrounds with digital candy colors and voices from all directions repeating the word "buy!" This past decade has felt so sterile and fake; no real desperation despite the state of things. Say what you want about the early 90s; but it definitely felt alive. You are just being sold to in a different way. Its still big ass companies trying to sell you things. Nothing is different except the style of the music and the fashion. Although I have noticed that flannels are coming back into style, so even the fashion is coming back around.

These artists were actual artist in their own right. Maybe I am just older now and have a different perspective, but I think I am right about this.
It is like the music industry is trying to sell our kids polished turds these days. Nirvana was real. Real pain. Real art. It showed in the music. You could feel their music. And this was the mainstream stuff! I know there was other pop crap as well, but Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, Alice In Chains, etc etc were the mainstream. That is wonderful. WTF happened?
I guess I am being a little over dramatic, there are great artists out there today. The "industry" just doesn't seem to care about encouraging and promoting those artists the way they did then.
@Capricornio said:Yeah, I don't doubt that things were just as commercial, but at least what was leaking through to the mainstream had some genuine art and originality to it. You could at least turn on MTV late at night and not know what you were going to see on there. Now it seems everything just tries to be the best at ripping off whatever idea happens to be popular at the time. You've got your greys...

...and your blue and orange's
...ah, but I guess it's always been like this to some degree, but at least some wierdness used to get through. It just seems like this kind of thing is the only thing that happens nowadays.
