Today is my day off! I'm a bit of a workaholic, so I dunno about all that, but I've got a double sink, and counter full of dirty dishes. I'm pretty sure these dishes extend to last week sometime. I know, that's gross, don't judge.

The older my son gets, the more expensive his requests get. I've had a rule from the beginning: Santa doesn't gift technology. Do you know how much that has saved me every year? Parents give the gifts of Apple products, video game systems, etc., etc., etc.

@ivy_light - I'm sending you caffeinated vibes, girl.

I typically sleep very well. Last night was no exception. I stick to a pretty strict schedule. 95% of the time I am in bed by 10pm and up at 5:30 for gym/run before work. If it is not a workout day the latest I'll sleep is 7. Keeps everything balanced but does drag me down if I want to go out. Which isn't very often these days.

@cupuscakus you still thinking about seeing DSO on Friday?

@twisty_m still sick. This weather doesn't help. I really need the neti pot to flush the sinuses but when I did it earlier in the week it really was to rough on my throat. Guess I'm stick with sudafed which my mother informed me they use to make crack. I tried to set her straight but she refused to believe me it was meth.

She's still not doing great- the air in our apartment is really dry, so she's been having sore throat troubles the last few days. We bought a small humidifier for our bedroom, and it seems to be helping a little bit, but not enough.

Anybody have any suggestions for this sort of problem?

When you are home, boil a giant pot of hot water on your stove. It helps me tremendously, honestly. More so than a humidifier.

So my daughter is going to her first day of preschool today. She was supposed to start next week but our babysitter for the afternoon fell through and I guess my ex (still weird to say that) managed to arrange an early start at school. Only half a day but I am nervous for her. She is excited though.

From the google reviews:
i would NEVER stay at this hotel nor wish anyone to stay here. me and my friends took a trip for 3 nights and for every night we were there the hotel floor had a strong stench of weed right when you walk out of the elevator. the second night we were there there was a group of people in the hallway chanting with drums from 1-3 in the morning.
So she was there during a phish run apparently.

i prefer the saline spray Image i find it easier to get the saline where it's supposed to go when its being forced up there as opposed to the dribble of the netti pot. i swear by it, i have bad sinus issues and frequent bouts of vertigo and it when i use the spray it helps flush the sinuses which then results in less dizzyness

Fun fact, the "03" after the JimmyMac is 'cause I am the third, much like our good friend Trey. When I was young my uncles (Scottish/Irish family) called me "The Turd" since that is how it sounds with an brogue. Maybe I should change my handle to TheTurd. What do you think?

JayDubya We stayed at a hotel in Peoria, IL once for a cheer competition my daughter was in. Our room had a poorly cleaned up blood splatter all over the wall by the bed. Like someone blew their brains out and they used paper towels and Formula 409 to try and wipe it up. We requested a room change.

The next room was just filthy, sans blood, but filthy. We lived with it as it was only one night.

That night, there was a woman that was apparently staying at the same hotel in hiding from her crazy ex boyfriend or husband or whatever. Well, he found out she was there and got into her hotel room. Tied her up hostage and threatened to kill her. The SWAT team showed up and eventually diffused the situation. They cleared out the entire floor that this was happening on. Cop cars were everywhere.

I should do a tripadvisor review for them.
