Question

mattsox94 Permalink
mattsox94 This is seriously for a friend...

A buddy of mine is traveling back from NYC on Amtrak this weekend and is trying to get bud back. Is this easy? I know train security can be hit or miss but what should he do?

You talkin like one can, or a couple 30 racks? Or a keg?

Potentially big risk for a very SMALL reward?

johnnyd I would make sure my Bud was in a sealed glass container so it doesn't skunk out.

Jayem Permalink
Jayem @mattsox94 I had very small amount with me on the train from New Haven to NYC for NYE last year. No dogs or searches and that was NYE. Shouldn't be an issue.

mfhgreyboy I would find it hard to believe that this would be an issue. As long it's wrapped well and not overwhelmingly obvious I think he'd be fine.

mattsox94 @jayem was that on MTA or Amtrak? I've never seen security on MTA like I have on Amtrak.

It was Metro North. Sorry I missed the Amtrak part

No worries. I'll tell him to advise against it.

fanman900 Permalink
fanman900 Just tell him to watch himself. Dryer sheets, duct tape, ziplock bags, and a cool attitude and he'll be A-OK

Don't old Bingo sniff him out, but the amtrak rent-a-cops are bricks in the walls when it comes to actual security, I've gotten hookers and illegals on and off those trains (not actually true)

YorkvilleBeerLover My whole life I have never seen the term "dub" used for weight. Are we really talking about 1.2 grams here? Is this some type of gangstaspeak I am unaware of?

I mean I know dubstep, and dub for 20+ inch rims, and of course I know this:

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Permalink
careful_w_that_axe_Miller Dogs do not have superpowers. "Seriously" tell your buddy to put a collared shirt on, press his pants, and use visine.

If you see a dog at a train or bus, his job is not to find drug dealers or users; his job is to maintain safety. I would bet $1,000,000 that a k-9 could give two shits about a pound. What he cares about are explosive, biological, radioactive, and chemical components.

I'll reference K-9 odor detection cap.

Euclid I imagine the dogs are trained for explosives and weapons. The dogs are also taught to ignore until instructed by their handler. He can't be instructed unless there is a reason, so don't give them a reason.

Desperate need of a rookie meme here.

Can I offer any of my label-mates?
JohnnyBytes, Tad Krunk, and Johnny Deemsters all specialize in very different genres of ear-splittingly bad music. You could book any one of them for 10 grand for a party.

Sorry, no discount if you want all 3 for one event.
