How quickly did you bang a Phish groupie?
What's the most famous woman you've had sex with?
Does the carpet match the drapes?
How well are you hung?
PLEASE PLEASE ask him if Phish are ever going to play in Canada again! If he says no then URGE HIM that they should, haha.
Most importantly I'd like to know what he does to keep himself mentally and physically happy.
What kinds of conversations does the band have these days about jamming? "Tonight, let's go type II with Chalkdust...Mike, you're going to lead the Ghost jam tonight...Page, I'm really digging the spacey themes, lets try to move more in that direction tonight, first set"
Does the band review its own shows together after playing them? where does he see the "sound" going in the immediate future? What would he like to experiment with?
At the Neil Young benefit, Trey told the audience that seeing Neil and Crazy Horse in 1994 in Lille, France was one of his top 3 all time musical experiences. I would love to ask him what are the other 2 on that list!! Good luck with the interview.
Maybeso_Maybenot are you holli? Lol
Definitely ask about his 2 birthdays pleayse, that shit eats me alive.
Ask him what his favorite thing to do outside of playing with TAB and PHISh is?

@RovingReporter said:Yes, she is Dan's daughter. So, after bugging the hell out of RLM, Ambrosia Healy specifically, I was given an interview with Trey for his Syracuse show. I've interviewed him before, but with the premise that Phish does not come up.Any relation to Dan?
This time, however, there are no stipulations. I am asking the people of .net what kinds of things they would like to know from Trey. I am doing a story for a magazine, a newspaper and an online news outlet.
Let it flow!
Are they really just going on "feel" for the most part, or are they consciously deciding to stretch a few songs ahead of time?
Thanks!

Ok, so I've had this thread festering in the back of my head for a few days, and here's what I'd love to know:
How democratic is the act of rip-cording when a jam could potentially stretch out longer, and in what ways have the band's overall setlist/playing/jamming philosophy changed from the 1.0 & 2.0 eras to the 3.0 era? I'd sort of like to know if they have some kind of signal (like when they'd say 'hey' during their old band practices) that lets the others know, 'dude, we're starting to sound too self-indulgent here, let's play another song.'
**I would ask this as tactfully as possible because I truly love how tight they've been playing since the '09 return. I've had the best times at shows in the last few years! Still, one of the most frequently mentioned issues around here is how fans would dig some deeper exploratory improvisation. Think of how much well-deserved hype the Bethel 'Waves' got last summer, and how the most popular show this summer was the FYF show--not just because of the setlist-spelling gimmick but because they wailed out 'Chalkdust', 'Carini', 'Jim', and 'Undermind.' Moments like that indicate that they could let their improv meander more loosely, but they choose not to. When they do it's that much more of a treat, right?

really want to know why he walked off stage during ghost (10/31/98) but that might be a touchy subject.i thought that was
@frump said:He did an interview in '04 before Coventry with Charlie Rose on PBS where he says something about his favorite 2 concert experiences being a Springsteen show in '78 and the 1st and 2nd times he saw the Dead. He mentions Zappa being up there too. There is a video on YouTube of it. I'd post it but can't.@MrMinersBrother said:I think I've heard him say that when he saw the Grateful Dead on acid and finally got "it" with the dead that it was one of his life changing concerts. Remember, this is a preview/feature about his show at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse. It's not a story about Phish, so the Phish questions will be limited to follow-ups to his answers to my questions. His manager/press person has stressed that he does not want to get into a huge discussion about Phish.
HOWEVER I will without a doubt ask about the Tweezer Reprise singer. She was amazing, and I have to ask if Trey will bring her on board with TAB, as I felt her voice was powerful and amazing.
Most of Trey's new songs seem geared toward his solo projects. Why is that? Is Trey having difficulty writing for Phish these days?Worded a bit differently, this is probably the best question from this thread. It's true. Aside from Steam, all of Phish's "new" material -- sans Joy stuff -- is all for TAB.

Can you ask him his jogging schedule in Central Park - I'm feeling like a run soon.agave. Def agave.
I'm visualizing running with him and chatting about wheat croissants.
I'd also like to know what is in that cup he drinks on stage - and if tea - what kind?
Does he use honey? If so what kind.
I'm visualizing he is a buckwheat honey guy like myself.

roving are you filling in as editor while jess is on haitus? going to solar garlic thursday? No, not filling in for Jess. I have a job at a different paper. I freelance for the New Times.

When did I call you a scalper?
And as far as the phone convo being recorded -- I am not sure if I'd be allowed. I'd have to get clearance. It's a fine line. I know everyone wants to know this or that, but I do not know if I technically "own" the interview. I will check in on it and let you know.

It's really nice to have this show coming up right after NYE
I really hope you have the chance to ask him my composing question and advice for music majors
I would be interested to know if there are any plans to release guitar tab books for the earlier Phish albums (Junta, Lawn Boy, Picture, and Rift) or any of the other Trey albums (besides just the debut). Or better yet, tab/full scores for live shows.
I know Trey has distanced himself from guitar magazines & his guitar god status, but seeing the 4/21/93 Split jam mapped out on paper still amazes me...
Good luck with the interview!

I am speaking with Trey on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. over the phone. Trust me, you will all get a thorough report.
Does Trey have any friends or family who have Down syndrome or is he simply a kind and understanding person who respects people of all abilities and understands the power of music and what it means to his fans?
See you at the Landmark!
