As the father of 2 beautiful girls with Down syndrome I was wondering specifically about the 12/30/2003 Miami show with P Funk. There was a young man with Down syndrome dancing on stage and, for whatever reason, security escorted him off the stage. Trey stopped playing, and went back to bring the kid back on stage to enjoy himself while the band continued to rock out.Didn't know about this. That's awesome. Man I love those guys.
Does Trey have any friends or family who have Down syndrome or is he simply a kind and understanding person who respects people of all abilities and understands the power of music and what it means to his fans?
See you at the Landmark!
EDIT: I too would like to know the results of this interview. As would everyone else. What's up OP?

@wrinkledraisin said:I think he said seeing Pat Metheny live was his musical epiphany. At the Neil Young benefit, Trey told the audience that seeing Neil and Crazy Horse in 1994 in Lille, France was one of his top 3 all time musical experiences. I would love to ask him what are the other 2 on that list!! Good luck with the interview.
he claims Zappa and the Dead were 2 huge moments for him in the charlie rose 2000 interview
Here's the deal. On Saturday I had my moment in the sun, my shooting star wish had come true. I was on the phone with Trey ... for all of six minutes before the call was cut off due to a scheduling conflict. Furious does not begin to describe my feelings.
So, in place and after much complaining, I was issued a backstage pass for tomorrow (Syracuse's) show at the Landmark. I will be wearing a press/photo pass -- look for me and say hi -- and will hopefully get to finish my exclusive interview FACE-TO-FACE.
What's that? Someone calling bullshit? I shall post a pic of Trey and I tomorrow. And for those of you who cared enough to write honest, thoughtful questions in this thread, I will try and get them answered as a special feature for .net.

I know its been a lot of great comments and suggestions and if this has already been asked then please disregard...
As a guitar place I remember the point at which playing took on a way more special form, like I knew I could really make people listen. Trey's ability to do such that is why I think I'm so captivated by him as a frontman. I think there is a point when creating the swollen, rhythmically fastidious kind of in your face music causes you to become something very important to those you are singing and playing to
It has to do with exchange of energy between the listener and the source... For years it has been an honor to call Trey and all of Phish the "source"
Does he ever remember a point when he knew that music was going to save his life?

Ok, here is what i am most curious about:
Is there one place that Trey has written the majority of his songs. Does he feel particuarly inspired by certain places. Is he a "sit in nature with an acoustic" sorta guy or is about the piano and composition paper for him. Does he use a 4-track to sketch ideas, etc. If you get this in time...

Ok, here is what i am most curious about:We got into this briefly. He and Tom, lately, have been doing demos on4-tracks. Boss Digital Studio is what he uses. I don't remember the model number. He was very vague, but did confirm what was previously reported that Phish is going to make an album soon. No time frame or other details.

I got to ask a brief question about his guitars and his choices for switching, etc. I got about four words in when ____ (name omitted) cut off the call. She said Trey had a prior engagement, and that she was sorry for the poor scheduling.
Honestly sounds like a very lame move by his people. Cutting you off like that is just rude, doubt it was up to him.Yeh but he was doing a string of interviews. Trust me bigger outlets get priority over me. But nonetheless I get to meet him!!

My question for him would be - does he enjoy making music and the creative process now more than he did in the beginning? I mean, in the beginning it was his fun thing in school, but for years now, it's his job. Does that have an effect on it?
What does that mean?
Are the lemons existing songs or musical ideas that need some work, or does lemons refer to problems with the process and collaboration of creating music?
PLEASE! I NEED TO KNOW!
WE NEED TO KNOW!
THANKS!
I think it just means they're thirsty @johnnydOr he wants to collaborate with G. Love.
In a recent interview he said they were trying to turn "lemons into lemonade."It means they're covering Led Zep II for Halloween.
What does that mean?
