Jimmy Page Rolling Stone Q/A Drugs/Guitar

tela16 Permalink
Q: When did you stop (drinking/drugs)

A: Drinking? Doing certain areas? Years and Years and Years ago.

Q: As in the Nineties?

A: As in, years ago. As in, it doesnt matter when it was. It was a long while ago. There were decades of decadence, then not-quite-decades of sobriety. As far as things that I could see were seriously dangerous, I flirted with them. There was an intoxication. And that was it. It was a romanced passed.

Q: Did your guitar playing improve when you stopped?

A: I don't know. It takes on another persona.

Q: What kind?

A: A sober persona - sober but not particularly clearheaded. Because it's still filled with wonderful, crazy thoughts.

careful_w_that_axe_Miller Jimmy Page. Motherfucking Jimmy Page. (Very close to) the greatest ever.

Interviewer should of asked him about Aleister Crowley and vanishing into mirrors and shit, best guitar player ever (ya I said it) wants to be Harry Potter.

Edit: if mr page wants or needs to be sober, I hope he is successful.

NoFIller Jimmy Page is by far not the greatest guitar player ever. I'm a huge Zep fan and always have been but he has a distinct sound and style that made him unique, not his technical ability. A lot of times he was turned up high and quite sloppy but that was the Zeppelin sound.

I suck ass at guitar but I could tell you that when I'm blitzed out of my mind my guitar playing isn't necessarily bad.. but just different. sloppier, but that's not always a bad thing.

And yeah I always thought Page as overrated as a guitarist but way underrated as a producer.

Dude. I like it sloppy. Of course Hendrix was the best ever,

If you are going to say I'm wrong though, you should put a musical example by imbed'ing from the YouTube.

twisty_m He's boss. Great answer, "As in, it doesn't matter when it was." Led Zepplin is a top band for me. This is what I grew up listening to and my Mothers favorite band. My parents laid the foundation of an immense appreciation for the sound of art for me and I'm grateful for that; Even if said parents suck at life.
