GM.N Sounds good!

Drinking coffee, going to gym then who knows. I feel like cooking today I think. Going to watch football at a buddys house tomorrow so no cooking then.

I am starting to feel like The Phish is getting closer.

Got a hotel all set up for the Trey show in Albany, Hampton Inn one tenth of mile from the Palace.

ivy_light Sup, @Axilla_Part_2_Not_Part_1? I gotta work at some point today too. Pretty much every day for the next two weeks. Merrr...

At least you got a kegger and football game tonight. I'm starting to plan ahead for what comes after publishing this paper. I've learned over the years that truly legendary benders require a bit of foresight.

Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Set 1: Cities, Chalk Dust Torture, Gumbo > Quinn the Eskimo, Halley's Comet > Camel Walk[1], Maze, Driver, Bathtub Gin, Fat Man in the Bathtub, Timber (Jerry) > Golgi Apparatus, Character Zero

Set 2: Tweezer > Light > Theme From the Bottom -> My Friend, My Friend[2] > Axilla, Fluffhead, Boogie On Reggae Woman -> Also Sprach Zarathustra > Suzy Greenberg

Encore: Run Like an Antelope > Tweezer Reprise

[1] P.A. cut out.
[2] No "Myfe" ending.

Notes: This was the first of three Pay Per view performances. The P.A. cut out during Camel Walk. My Friend did not contain the "Myfe" ending.

I spun this show last night. Tweezer was so damn good. I remember right around the seventeen minute mark of Tweezer, all of the nights were behind the stage in some repeating rainbow pattern. It was like a cracked out version of Simon. I was drinking gin and juice before the show and I got my first bathtub Gin that night!

I'll have to check that out again.

Some of the most mystical experiences I've ever had have been in the glow of those lights. At Essex I was about 50ft or so from the stage. For some reason, that was where I had the most significant direct exposure to CK5's lights. He likes to slowly tilt the back line of lights upward, sweeping the crowd from front to back during the build up in Slave. That was when I "got" Slave for the first time.

It's a shame how bad they got, they did a song for Shrek and it was downhill after that. Recovering The Satellites isn't all that bad. I think Long December makes that album.

Jimmymac03 The difference between PT and .net.

PT has a Dimebag Darrell memorial thread on it's first page today.

.net has a John Lennon memorial thread on it's first page today.

I was never a fan of Dimebag Darrel, just not my flavor of art, but it is horrible and sad the way he went. Same with John. I want to believe in the right to own a gun, but the madness needs to end.

We sure are good at killing our idols. I'm not offering Dimebag up to realms of idolization but damn, "It's too good, let's kill it"

Jimmymac03 One of my best friends supposedly went on a wild coke fueled bender with Adam Duritz many years ago. This would have been near the height of their popularity. Apparently he was out of his mind. The met at one party and just kind of became instant party buddies for the night. Spent the entire night driving around LA going from spot to spot with Duritz driving my friend's shithole of a car.

I guess they were entering the early afternoon and my buddy had to be the one to pull the plug. Duritz was ready to keep raging. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Used to be against all that I stood for to be awake before 10am on a Saturday...wtf. I've been awake for an hour already...but my stubborn ass won't get up till nature is practically stomping on my lower abdominal area. But still...here I am at ten to 9 (central) and I'm up. suck

Going to a christmas party tonight. One of my ladies has a full, decked out bar in her basement. (we worked together for about 5 years about 5 years ago) She invites all of her (husband's) friends and (his) family over for a super kick-ass blast. (heh i said ass blast) I never know anyone there but her, but I'm friendly and most of them know me. (it's a work thing, I'm just really unaware of anything that has to do with that place). I mingle and get relatively trashed while she plays hostess. Later, during mid party rage, she and I will disappear and have our own party. Smokey treats and catch-up talk. I'm expecting to have a great time tonight.

I feel a rambling coming on...story time? maybe so, maybe not. I feel the need to make up for my non posting yesterday... (here's me acting like I'm all will powered and self controlled... I forgot my phone yesterday... it was hell, but I did catch up my work from a whole week of slacking)
ok... 9am... I suppose...

Is this some gm.net humor that's way over my head or something? If playing halo 3 is slang for being hungover then the answer is a resounding yes

Dark Star was great last night. I really enjoy Jeff Chimenti. He was on keys instead of Rob Barraco. Bunch of songs I was hoping to hear. WAY more people then I expected pretty good little lot scene too. Spent the first set in the middle of the crowd but found an awesome spot tucked in the back next to the sound board for set two. Had a chair and shared a table with the lights guy. Plenty of space to move and breath back there.
Not gonna lie I had moments where I couldn't get over the "imitation" factor. The "fake Bobby" sings and acts just like the real Bobby. It's a little much.

Also the most sober I have been at a show in a Loooooooong time. Few puffs before I went in and that was it. Had a really good time. Didn't miss drinking at all.

Jimmymac03 @Jayem last time I saw DSO was in Solana Beach near San Diego. Sold out show, packed to the rafters. I ate some mushrooms before we went in and they didn't kick in till the second set. But boy did they kick in. I was right in front of the stage getting down with all these older heads. Everyone was out of their minds, it was nearly a mosh pit. I just remember dancing and laughing my ass off thinking about how primal and animistic it all was.

Damn that was a fun show.
