I got info today from the sourciest source possible. There is no possible chance Phish will play Watkins Glen this coming summer.as much as i enjoyed that fest, i would love it to be closer....

Isn't it Loring Air Force base in Limestone?
Would definitely be a trek for me too (like 2,000 miles), but I grew up in that neck of the woods. About the best excuse to visit home that I could possibly think of. I'll pick you up on the way

@MiguelSanchezyeah, the 12 or so hour drive to watkins is about my max. let them announce a festival in limestone, and we'll see if i start coming off that...

My brother had a chat with Kuroda before the Long Beach show (see pic) was told by Kuroda that the band has three spots on their wish-list: Indio, Limestone, and New York. Credibility kangfirm'd.I would give about 1 percent chance the band plays a 30th anniversary West Coast festival. I would say Plattsburgh, Loring, or their "home" Vermont.

I was under the impression that Limestone (aka Loring Airforce Base) had been converted to a business park and was no longer a viable concert site. See http://www.loring.org/default.aspx. Plattsburgh is also out of contention. Some time after the Clifford Ball, the formerly decommissioned airforce base there was opened for commercial use and is now Plattsburgh International (!) Airport. The good news is that there are plenty of other decommissioned airforce bases, and if anyone has the patience, they can figure out which ones are in the Northeast. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_Realignment_and_Closure. Other than that, I'm guessing it'll be Indio, which is fine by me.
isn't hoping a festival is the exact same place as it was the previous year kinda the antithesis of what we enjoy about Phish? I for one would be somewhat offended. Ending the year with Dicks a couple times or going to Alpine and Deer Creek consistently is different than hosting an event that happens on average once every 3 years in the same place twice in a row.Offended? Really?

@Sprachtor said:I have been saying VT for some time now. I have zero sources, other than the source. I think getting past the Coventry curse would really help propel them into a new era, and it is just fiting to bring their biggest celebration of the year, during their 30th anniversary year, back to where it all began.I would give about 1 percent chance the band plays a 30th anniversary West Coast festival. otherwise, i may be going solo...and i would really like to bring my brother along, so please phish gods...keep it east this time around..and a place that can handle the traffic so i dont wait in a parking lot of a hi-way..

In the 90's it was much harder for a band to get venues for fests comparatively.... so it makes much more sense.
The music will be good no matter where they play, I like the adventure of new locations and new experiences forgive me if I assumed other fans feel the same.
Hope its not Cali. NY would be tight again.
Its to hot in.florida for a smer fest....
