I don't have NYE tickets, and I'm okay with it

King_Williamson Permalink
King_Williamson Of course, I would love to have a ticket or two to go to NYE. I figured I'd start a thread for those who don't have tickets, don't want to trade for them, and most importantly, to try and offset all of the NYE ticket requests that have been flooding .net since, geez, October?

However, my wife said I can pick my own Christmas gift this year. NYE stream? She won't understand it and for some reason, that makes it all the better! Rebellion!!

DirtyAl1173 Well, I'm with you! As a starving artist in a bad economy I probably couldn't afford tix if they were playing Atl tonight. I'm going to wait for the AUDs and celebrate NYE on the second week of January.

spencur6 I am in Wisconsin. I won't be making it to New York for NYE. I have accepted that. I saw it in 2010 and savored every show because i said spencer there is no way you are doing this again for at least 6 years or so. Mind you the travel was a bit more costly because of the fact that there were two shows in woostah. Worth every penny though.

YorkvilleBeerLover I'm ok with it as well. I'll be at home with friends drinking high grade champagne and smoking high grade weed - may even have a salad.

FYI - if you are in NYC, andf not at the show, and want to avoid the cattle in Times Square head over to the park for the Annual Midnight Run with Fireworks! If you position yourself near the old Tavern on the Green you can watch the Ball drop and see the fireworks - what can be more fun!

King_Williamson I mean, the live experience is unmatched. But, sitting in front of the fireplace with a cold beer and a snuggie isn't a bad substitute while watching the webcast.

brfarrell It doesn't look like it is in the cards for me to make it down from Maine, but I agree ... it is okay! Every year it seems like my team is out of the playoffs and I am constantly thinking, "There's always next year." I'll be at moe. on the 30th if any netters want to meet up, though. While this isn't everyone's cup of tea, I'll also be at DMB in Manchester, NH on Wednesday if anyone is making that trip. I just love watching Carter play.

Happy Holidays all.

Don't have any either. Haven't really tried. Will approximate all the shows I hit next summer that much more

Busta_Move Yeah I didn't even try to get tickets this year. As much as I'd like to go, especially considering how awesome this summer tour was, it just wouldn't be a smart use of my money right now. Responsibility FTW......or FTL. either way...... ::shrugs::

Everyone who's going is gonna have a blast! :)

MiguelSanchez If my wife and I went to MSG, even if we bought tix for face, that would be over $500. Then there's $700 for plane tix. Then there's food and partying. Lets be conservative and say $500. That's a $1600 trip right around Christmas. I'm not embarrassed to say I'd rather keep that money for my family's well being.

MomaDan It all works in cycles, maaaan. Miss one year, catch the next. Miss an epic summer show by one venue then see a couple awesome ones on another tour. Look at my stats and this is a perfect description of the shows I've seen. Amazing first show, #s 2-4 were mediocre and so far this year has been pretty good. It all comes back around

I just found out today I have no ticket either. Praying I can get one somehow. Maybe getting in line at like 6 am day of show will be last resort. I hate this so much. Good luck to all who are looking

King_Williamson Thought I'd bump it not to rub salt in the wounds of those without tickets (myself included). I was just curious who was going to stream it? My wife said two of the four nights. NYE, obviously. I think I'll flip a three-sided coin to decide one of the other nights.

Stubhub pulled a couple hundred tickets off of the NYE sale page around Noon today (EST). People who can only ship have run out of time, or people who forgot to add last minute services (the stubhub tent outside of shows) have had their tickets removed from stub hub. There was about 1300+ when I started work this morning and last time I checked there were 870+ tickets for NYE.

I think there will a fair amount of people with extras for sale over the 4 night run. I brought an extra to NYE 95/96 and one to NYE 02/03. Dont let not having a ticket discourage you. AT absolute worst, you're in NYC for NYE.
