08/17/10 wilson with the toy guitar... that was hilarious. great show!
Made a spontaneous decision to stay for the Sunday show, caught a ride and a train back to DC to get to my job on Monday morning on basically no sleep. Fantastic times.
So I'm driving my friends down to alpine for what will be a great show and all of a sudden my friend goes turn down the music my moms calling. So i turn the tunes down and he answers and starts saying that he gave me his ticket to sell on laht. This wasn't true at all. When he hangs up i ask "Whats going on dude?" He then explains to me he was supposed to not go to the show due to a recent problem he had with his girl friend. Needless to say he went and got caught. Good time though. I recall quite a bit of bubble hash being smoked in my car.
when we rolled in, it was freezing...........
og_pincones crawld into the top of the camper and came out 25 lbs lighter..,i had to drain the sweat pan
THE BIGGEST MOTHA f***IN BALL EVA
For some reason there were random w00k type individuals whom Neil didn't know at his trailer. One of them kept trying to sell me some glass marble that he thought was really awesome. It was, but I didn't need a marble at the time.
We made grilled cheese sandwiches and we slept on his floor before driving to Minneaplois the next morning for the Target Center show.
Cool story bro tell it again
Ok oxford miss 94. Everyone kept telling us heads " have you been over to see the bud growing on campus"??We were like what? its illegal you cant grow that on a college campus.. So after the show we went and looked and found the triple fenced area of the campus where the dank buds were growing. It was really dark and could barely make out the plants but they were there. there was a guard tower and rotating lights. so every few seconds the lights would shine right on the plants. HAHAHA sick story huh... I was amazed. legal pot growing outside
amazing.......

Huge tailgate at the Mann in '95 with several different groups of people that had one lynchpin between them. Hot as balls, keg of beer in the back of a Chevy blazer, and I think a birthday cake. Crashed on the floor of the college house of someone I didn't even know.I was there too. I have the strangest memory from that run. I was hanging out fairly early in the day. I'm not sure if it was the first night or the second night. What I do remember was at one point, I looked up after hearing some commotion. What did I see? A pack of horse riding cowboys in full old west, outlaw regalia. Riding through the park right towards us. Most ironically, they were all black dudes! It was such a strange sight. We were all like "dude....is that really happening!!!" Seriously though, it was. These cats must have had a club or something. They rode through Phish land like they owned the place and it was awesome! I'd be super stoked if someone here could chime in, having seen these rough riders too!

These green worms were just kind of on the front of the stage.
::gets lost in the jam::
"wait a second, did those f***ers just move a few feet?"
::stares at worms for like 5 minutes with nary a flinch::
::goes back to looking at band::
This summer my good friend and I brought our good friend to his first show (Wooster N2) I spent the 1st set down on the floor alone. Turned around freaking out when the Roses jam kicked in to see @cupuscakus beaming in pure bliss. We locked eyes for a few seconds then I turned back around to get in to full Roses Jam rage mode.
Second set I went way up high Fish side to meet up and rage that set with my friends. To watch all of my friends reactions was priceless. So much fun. Drove home all night. Slept for an hour the next day and woke up and partied for 12 hours.
Also, bringing my little brother to SPAC this summer for his first shows will forever be at the top of my memories for anything. So many amazing memories that weekend!
It was my good buddy's first show and he was dying to hear Fluffhead. As we were walking to our seats we hear the opening chords from Trey and then the whole band kicked in with the Fluff opener...It was a special experience and a kick ass show.
Yep, drugs are funny that way.
First time being in the pit this year alpine valley night one. Also Superball people all pounding their glass bottles before they got in through security then jumping in there cars and driving in. Also dude a sb running around in floties and a snorkel asking where the heady swimming hole was. Sorry that was three
Atlanta 99 my friend and I drove down and surprised another friend of ours who was on tour at the time. Within minutes of arriving on lot one of the friends with whom she was traveling found us, just like that. So we all hugged, had a great show and proceeded to return to the lot to party until they kicked us out. Upon returning to our car, our neighbors came over and identified the show we were listening to by date. They recited the entire setlist for that show. They then informed us that there was a random naked dude passed out in their van. They asked if we would go get him out. We laughed our asses off. They were like, no seriously. Would you get him out of there? And we were like, um, no. Eventually a team was assembled to remove said naked dude from the van. When he woke up, he was highly embarrassed and apologized profusely before fleeing into the night wearing a donated pair of shorts. The moral of the story is: lock your car!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
at coventry, hanging out at our campsite (more like mudsight amirite?), i was eating skittles. and i started choking on one, really bad. probably the worst i've ever choked on food. and my two buddies just sat there watching me in a terrible coughing fit, barely breathing at times, trying to get them to help out. but they didnt. finally i coughed it up. they kept laughing.
soooo that's another reason why that fest sucked lol

On our way to see Deep Banana Blackout in upstate NY from Burlington VT in 2000 (I think). At the time I was driving one of these:

Ultimate shaggin waggin. Seats 6 comfortably and seat go flat in case of emergency/orgy. Mine was same color and everything.
So the carburetor goes on the way to the show and we wind up on the side of the highway scratching our heads. We didn't know where we were or what had happened to the car. But we were a little worried cause we had some party favors with us. So we pushed the car to the next exit (just two of us btw, and my friend was kind of a smaller dude). Leave it at a gas station who said we could leave it overnight.
Turns out it is a college town so we decide to hoof it to the campus and in the mean time try and find out if we know anyone who goes to school here and if we can get in touch with them. Mind you, this was my cell at the time:
My friend was getting paranoid about the pills we had so his obvious conclusion was that we should just take them. Great idea!
Turns out my friend was able to contact someone who knew someone and they would let us crash in the common room at their dorm for the night. They had no car though so we just kept walking. We walked for almost 2 hours. It was a roller coaster of emotions. So mad we were missing the show to pure happiness just because... drugs... to paranoia of who is this person in the car coming down the road towards us to bummed I am missing the show to pure dread as a cop goes by and I am convinced he is going to turn around and... he doesn't... to pure joy.
Anyway, we get to the dorm and it is all very awkward to meet some chicks we don't even know, out of our minds on droogs. We wind up leaving them and trying to crash on couches in the common room. Some security guy came around every hour to tell us it was cool if we hung out there but we couldn't sleep there so if were sleeping the next time he came we were out. So we just chilled all night. Dozing here and there till the sun came up.
Then we walked the 2 hours back to my broke ass car and called my mom to rescue us. Thanks mom.
The second time we go past, one of the dudes is on his knees, really disoriented, chick we were with goes up to him and tries to give him water, he starts pulling on her and mumbling, I approach him and clearly see that this is not a good situation, the look in his eye man, I still remember it, evil, something was pulling this dudes stings.
I start talking to him trying to bring him out of it, he's communicating somewhat with me, he's like "help me" I still don't know what he meant, I held out my hand to pull him to his feet, he grabs ahold of me now squatting on his feet, well balanced and basically standing just squatting, he starts pulling me toward him, I broke away from him and he stumbled, chick I'm with runs over to help him not realizing something strange is happening, she's like "let me help you" dude is looking at me, had never stopped eyeing me says "no, you help me" repeatedly, like in a trance, I grab the chick and move her away indicating danger, turn around to look at this dude,
I'm afraid at this point, concerned for the people I'm with and specifically this chick, we are all faced man; I am trying to get between this chick and this large crazy dude he looks up at me then grabs a tree with both hands and smashes his face off the trunk knocking himself out, he rolled like a log down the hill and hit his head again woman comes running over and says, "your friend just knocked himself out" I was like "I don't know him, get a paramedic" and walked away, we saw him taken out on a gurney.
It is top 10 craziest shit I've ever seen, it f***ed the rest of the show up, talked about it all night, was really weird. Ha ha really weird.
08/17/10 wilson with the toy guitar... that was hilarious. great show!that WAS A GREAT SHOW!!!
my second ever.
My favorite memory was the wooohoooo trend at AC 2012 that started during Twist. Won't forget it.
/rockstar'd
Definitely at IT, I'm not sure if they were there in 97 and 98 too.
Anyway, the week leading up to the fender bender was fun. We slept at two rest areas, awoken by the police one night. One of the rest areas turned into a makeshift campground which was a fun thing to see.
I remember we got to Camden really early. 10am or something like that. And it was fun. We rested in the car, walked around. It was cool to see Shakedown develop, see the vendors and tour folk coming in. It felt like I was part of the family moving across the country (even for my mini-tour).
Someone finally talked him down and through the process of unlocking and opening the door.
Oh boy. So so so many. This summer my good friend and I brought our good friend to his first show (Wooster N2) I spent the 1st set down on the floor alone. this is kind of a synchronicity/small world type thing... my wife's one and only phish show was last NYE. We're friends with katmama (my wife helped kat with her etsy site and design work stuff). So, we see this big guy walking in the venue in a Fish dress. My wife says, I think Kat makes those things. So, it was a worlds colliding thing for me... my non-phan wife, my first MSG NYE, local connection (katmama), and .net's infamous frizz.
No takers.
also loved the " CACTUS CACTUS" from Trey during that Boogie on Jam so headdyyy
08/17/10 wilson with the toy guitar... that was hilarious. great show!I also love this because it taught us all that Trey can shred a toy guitar harder than a lot of guys can shred on a real guitar.

I reach down and grab it... pull it back up, and scrape the SH*t out of my hand.
Didn't feel a thing, kept dancing the rest of the night
Leaving the show, blood all over my shirt, looked like I got into a serious fight (and won since all the blood was on my fist and shirt only). I have a scar on my hand ill never forget that.
I was camped two miles away from the stage at the Great Went. For a mile of the walk, the vendors had Sammy Smith and falafels and packed burritos and all kinds of great food. Then it became grilled cheeses, then it was shots for a dollar. By the time we got to where we turned off to the car, there was a guy sitting on a case of Milwaukee's Best yelling "Free Beast! Freeeee Beast!"Ha ha ha that is beautiful.
No takers.
AmhestN1-- some dude was walking around Shakedown shouting "Who's got my Chihuahua?" I asked him if that was a new drug, and he simply said "No, I seriously lost my dog"
(We saw him Night two with his cute, shaking mexican dog)
BethelN2 -- Some guy was shouting into a traffic cone -- "Get your vageen bedazzled. I've got aquamarine, terramarine. Get your vageen bedazzled" Loved that guy.
SPACN2 -- some guy singing was BELTING out some Disney Princess song. He sang it with such heart and soul, we all waited until he finished and gave him a big ovation.
That guy was awesome! Remember the kid RAGING the guitar Dicks lot? I wish we were in a state of mind to record him. He was seriously talented.
