Worcester Roses

fanman900 Permalink
fanman900 Single handedly the best jam I've ever witnessed in person. Listening to it right now and its about to break into "worcester jam" the chills won't stop jumping all over my body. I love this piece, f***ing electric, f***ing transcendental. Little did we know what they had in store for the rest of the night. See you in 8 days boys

NigelTufnel I absolutely lost myself when I knew they were settling into the jam. In my opinion, it's as good of a ten minute Roses as there'll ever be. One of my personal concert-going highlights. I'll never forget it!

I called this the day before. I said the first Roses they play during the tour would be jammed out because of the Ween break up news a week earlier. I freaked out

fanman900 @Friedmann I knew they would do something crazy for a tribute. I was geeking when this showed up and obliterated my earholes. I had heard roses before, but I knew the moment they hit the first note that this one was gonna be f***ing special

Penn42 This entire show is underrated. The Roses jam anchors the first set nicely. Though played well, nothing else in the first set is particularly noteworthy, save maybe Gin. But the second set is just awesome. Great Disease, suger groovy Sand -> Nellie Kane, debut of the new 2012-style fiery Mike's, solid 2001, and, IMO, the second best Zero ever.

Love this show.

Potato_Sacks Great show. the Genre of this jam in my eyes is something like Trance-Funkadellia or something on those lines. Worcester was a blazing run. Agreeing with @Penn42, best zero ever. That Sand gave us a little peak at how they were gonna treat the song for the rest of the year.

The energy in the room was incredible during Roses, especially at the "throw the pumpkin at the tree" verse (after the brief jam). The whole place erupted when they stretched it out. Amazing experience for me.

I LOVED THAT MAZE!

That whole show in retrospect was a little weaker than the previous night, but being there they were just about the same. That is to say, the shit. The biggest disappointment in this show was the antics-free Makisupa, because after Bethel Woods, I don't know if a standard Makisupa will ever be enough for me.

Awful venue though, lol.

Worcester is the best place to see a show aside from the bathroom situation. The lower bowl is so small. I love that building and the city.

I hope they come back next year.

Reminds me of when I saw someone say MSG sucked on here.

But thats just like, my opinion, maaann.

I agree, one of my top venues to see Phish. Bathroom situation is kinda annoying, but you have to find the slightly "secret" bathrooms.

I love me some phish hockey arena shows

Tour opener Worcester no brainer love that place went to the 27th&28th in 1998 and always wanted to go back major flashback of the 27th when they opened with the buried alive first night was awsome second night was great also many highlites between the 2 and that roses was great have been wanting to see them jam it out since I saw roses for the first time at Nassau in 98 and they didn't disappoint great shows

andrewrose I loved 6/8. I was on the floor a couple rows back for 6/7 and had an absolutely great time that night. Was in reserved seating on 6/8 but still kind of preferred that show. The Roses was definitely one of the highlights.. that moment when it was clear they were going to jam a bit on it was uplifting to say the least. The second set is awesome. Disease is tight, interesting. Sand-> Nellie Kane is a tour highlight, and the Mike's Groove, especially the 2001 are pretty underrated imo. Great show!

I was there and I remember being super psyched that Roses got a little work out, and it's by no means a bad jam...OP's stat's say he was at Long Beach this Summer, and he preferred this jam to the magic that went down out West? I guess to each his own...

fanman900 @TwiceBitten Hell yeah this would have been ever more amazing coming out of a stretching ghost jam, had it been a LB ghost style DCU Roses 1,2 punch I probably couldn't have made it out of what ever mystical place the boys had just taken us too. What ever song they played next wouldn't matter because i would comprehend what was happening. I was just in shock, such a great jam, both of them in my eyes. Just heard LB Ghost on Jam On the other day and was geekin!
