Just last year...

Superstar Phish fans, Here We Go!
We are officially and formally set up for Sunday at Hudson Yards Cafe. They'll be ready to open at 2:00, and we'll call an official start time at 3:00. But show up earlier if you want. We won't be waiting on the street this year. (Unless you show up at like noon, in which case you probably will.)
We've been working with the owner to ensure the best time possible for everyone. Streamlined but robust food menu, customized beer list, and a guarantee of his best bartenders and waitstaff. All this should help alleviate what was really the only big concern last year - the time it took to get a drink! But I'm confident in saying that Jim is on the same page as us and everything is in place to have a fantastic afternoon and evening.
A couple bullet points:
* Say Hi at the front table. We'll have what is becoming our traditional "VIP" laminates. These will entitle you to whatever you can finagle your way into at the show, and are also cool little keepsakes. Grab a "Hi My Name Is" sticker so we know who you are. We'll certainly be taking donations for the Mockingbird Foundation, and if you choose, you can designate whether you want your contribution to go to what is turning into a nice Forum Fund Drive. We'll be looking for a few volunteers to hang out at that table.
* We'll be able to plug an ipod in to the house sound system. Looking for a volunteer (or committee) to put together a play list and manage the deal. More input is better to cover the wide range of tastes in the group. (That is my polite way of saying that if you cause me to listen to 4 continuous hrs of B-grade jambands, I'll KMS.) Additional responsibility is to keep track of the ipod or ipods. Apparently one of ours got accidentally switched with a waitress one year, and she, upon realizing she had an ipod full of Phish and nothing else, almost K'dHS. Death because of music is a horrible thing. Lets avoid it.
Edit: This effort is underway here.
* There are a couple tvs available. The place is not a sports bar, but there is a 36" tv at one corner of the bar, so the football game will be available.
* We were hoping to set up a n00b table (think holiday kids table) with structured activities including a reading of Gamehendge, Lot Lingo Bingo, Nitrous Balloon Animals, and Storytime from the 90s, but no jaded vets wanted to manage that. So I guess we'll all get to co-mingle!
* There are a good number of tables, but the place is not huge. If you are eating, please be conscious of this and look to turn tables quickly. Avoiding the "camping" dynamic will help both our hosts and each other get our bellies full. Then before, and now once more, be bouncin' round the room.
Looking forward to seeing you all, and wishing everyone a rip roarin' Silent -> Bouncin to ring in the New Year...
Peace!
Edit - "Unofficial" meetups:

12.31
Nice.
JD I thought you weren't going to the 30th show?
JD I thought you weren't going to the 30th show?
http://memecrunch.com/meme/A3O/awkward-party/image.pngLast year it was weird because all these people were there and I didn't know any of their screen names. A lot of lurkers turned out. Like besides the original first few who showed up, the next like 20 were .netters who didn't ever post. Not that there was anything wrong with it, but at one point I was just waiting to recognize one screen name.
Then the reggies started to pack in.

http://memecrunch.com/meme/A3O/awkward-party/image.pngDon't worry, there were a few tables like that last year.
I can't wait for this!! I had such a damn good time. Plus, those backstage passes you hand out every meet-up are so clutch. See you fools there.
Woot woot! I'd be more than happy to volunteer at the table for part of the night @johnnyd!Me too. @johnnyd whatever you need let me know.
Hopefully, there will be some sort of impromptu meet up on nye...as this is the only show I'm hitting up..
I'm definitely bummed about not being able to attend this..Lets make it happen.

I'm definitely bummed about not being able to attend this..why cant u come in just for the meetup?

Anyway, have fun!
Is this a place netters go all four nights or just the official met up in on the 30th?People should definitely feel free to set things up for other nights, even just designate a place. I know Hudson Yards is booked with a different event Saturday, so that is not available. But were I to be figuring this out, I might start a separate thread for each night to get a discussion going about where's a good spot to meet up.
The one takeaway I have is this: If you pick a popular spot, there's a good chance its gonna be so crowded that you cant even figure out who is who. Either have a way to meet up or pick something at least a touch off the beaten path. @lumpblockclod recommended a place called West 3rd Common that his friend owns down in the village, and there is certainly plenty of local knowledge in terms of picking spots.

I can pretend to be the Phish fan who didn't know there was a gathering and just happened to stumble into a bar filled with Phish fans.
very awesome. Coming up from VA and doing the 30th and NYE by myself so more than likely attending for sure.
@patper you betterSigned.
Also, @Johnnyd glad to hear about the special beer selection. Were they able to get the hetty Icehouse I requested?
I might have to check this out
@birmy said:Consider yourself signed up.@patper you betterI'm in! Where do I sign up? Here?
@Choda I thought pants were frowned upon at these types of gatherings?
@birmy said:Its all non-alcoholic. Plus some sparkling cider.@patper you betterSigned.

I mean, you know. There's that perception that I moderate the forum in such a heavy-handed manner and the MBF is all about censorship. So I figured, f*** it. Lets go with it.
Hope you all enjoy the O'Douls.
Photography is not really my thing. The few pics I got last year really reinforce that.
Maybe someone could do one of those neato multishot panaoramic stitch-together jobbers?
Also, does anyone know what the dubstep (Bethel Woods) Makisupa Policeman was at last years event? I've been searching for it for ages (well, just under a year), and have no idea what it was - it was like "Page's House!" *WUB* *WUB* *WUB* *WUB*"
p.s. Woo!
