Ok, I hate to be "that guy". I know things are crazy right now with people looking for tickets. But I promised a dear friend I would try and help her out. I feel guilty asking for tickets here, as I have been blessed with a bunch of tickets for myself and my crew. I'm just trying to help a friend. So, feel free to flame away, but I'm only using the resources at my disposable.

I'm looking for 1 (one) ticket anywhere in the building, for any/all nights.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I am and have, brother. I promised a friend I would try any and all resources to help out. I figured .net was among the best of these resources. I am not trying to be greedy, just honoring a friends request.

It's not like I'm asking for face tickets from .net only to turn around and sell them for over on Ebay and Stubhub

what is the lowest price ticket online? seriously in my town we give away 86 dollar lift tickets to friends all the time for free. just because we can and love our dearest most beloved friends... sure i could go up and sell em so hooking a friend up with a cheap nye ticket seems like a no brianer. Im not hating just stating a clear and obvious fact,. throw in the xtra and give your firend a ticket and get the 90 bucks from them.. its christmas. we blow tons of money on gifts for people that they dont need just because.. why not chip in and help them get a ticket? its christmas, nye comes just once a year.......ITS PHISH........Some seats for the knicks are $5000. a ticket (FACE) if not more per game.... couple hundo for the best live attraction since the big bang? You're not busting balls but you are being a dick. On what planet is it OK to suggest he buy scalped tix by going to stubhub vs. asking .net if anyone has something for face.

That would have been a great moment to shut up and keep your thoughts to yourself. It's the sort of comment that doesn't make people want to help you out one day. It's like the opposite of why Ron actually gets hooked up by regulars. Long stretches of NOT making unnecessary dickish comments like you seem to.

I dont think @sicmd is a promoter of scalping. i think he just came off the wrong way, in the wrong context. im sure he gets it.

Either he bought all his tickets on the scalper market and wants everyone else to be like him, or he has tickets listed there himself. There are a few people on PT who constantly support scalping, and they all scalp tickets for a living.

With this boards terms of use and with the understanding that scalpers make life harder for any fan trying to get tickets for face, as they steal 10% of our tickets, I don't understand his logic in encouraging fans here to buy off stubhub. Unless he will profit from those purchases.

Some of us who have extras and want to make sure they get into the hands of someone who will be positive force at the show. That's not always easily done.

I like to make sure the person I help out has an older user number and positive post history. That's one way I try to make sure the tickets going to a good place. Another way is if a long time poster and regular member of the community vouches for someone else. That sort of thing helps direct tickets towards good rather than evil. Ron is one of those members whose endorsement is good enough for me.

Don't buy scalped tickets. Don't ask to be hooked up unless you have posted your opinions a minimum of 237 (arbitrary number) this Phishified version of facebook, or else you will be considered too new to attend a show.

I would like to apologize for starting to like Phish in the past year. I hope someday I will have paid enough dues to be considered to get a ticket at face value. For now I guess I'm stuck with stubhub, what a vicious cycle.

OP has a bunch of tickets for himself and crew but not for their dear friend. Sounds like a good friendship to me. Or this dear friend has a nice rack or something.

I appreciate the true netters here that support me. Come January/February, after the holiday run has died down, and long before many of you guys come crawling back to .net looking for summer tour tickets, the rest of us netters will be here, like we always have been, interacting with each other and supporting each other (in matters that reach far beyond Phish). But when summer tour is announced, we will still welcome all the new posters with open arms (assuming these new posters contribute to the community. And are not just here looking for something) because, well, because that's what we do. Instead of taking issue with someone asking for tickets, and are maybe butthurt because you see someone being supported, why don't you put some time in on a great site like this because you take interest in other fans? Not just stopping by looking for tough tickets. Just a thought. Thank you to everyone here that has kind words. Means a lot.

I have asked for tickets on this website for hard shows many times never got any. Tickets for face for sold out shows is sort of bull shit. Sorry people they don't really get traded for cash to strangers. Not that I don't like the idea of face tickets for everyone. They don't happen for the 28th or 31st or any small show. I have asked here and on cash or trade dozens of times. If someone has an extra for nye they will only trade it for the right to all of you other tickets its never one for one. This and many other trades are inherently unfair. Bottom line cash or trade is sort of stupid. That crap about face is face just isn't true some shows are worth more because they are smaller in areas where more fans live NYC or Sam Fran I don't know anyone who gets face tickets for straight cash for nye off cash or trade sure its fine for my deer creek for your alpine but for nye it just doesn't happen

This is an interesting thread for a couple reasons.

1. People have entered that don't have a ticket, but they feel the need to tell how they feel on the subject. What I usually do is if I don't have a ticket, I stay out of the thread. Why there has to be commentary on this post I have no idea.

2. In truth, I appreciate when people who are asking for tickets for other people, inform possible sellers when they send out there search party. If OP decided to just say I need an extra ticket for the show, this would have been a quick non-commentary thread. But he was honest and told it wasn't for him and I guess that is what opened up the debate. Either way, it is helpful knowing who the ticket is truly for.

Like I said...if you don't have the posts, your opinion counts for less. I am on this site at least ten times per day, many times it is more than that. I do not put my two cents into every post because I feel that most times opinions are useless and especially with grizzled vets like Ron who will assume I am looking for something or think I will not be reading the forums after new years.

I may be new, but it seems like face value hookups happen on their own, not by request.

That being said, I can't wait to get to the garden in a few days. It is safe to say that I am more excited to see Phish than I am for Christmas. See you there Ron

just callin it like i see it. i read the entire thread in one shot, and what i saw was a guy come in here and state his case. thats all well and good. but when people disagreed with him, he turned into an asshole. completely uncalled for.

i actually agreed with some of what he was saying, initially. but all of that went out the window when he got defensive and started calling people out. i feel 100% justified in telling him that he and his attitude and his ball are not wanted here. you dont like it, well im sorry. thats just too bad.

as for the soapy bubbles up OP's ass....Ron and I have developed a friendship here over the past couple of years. I just wanted to do what i initially came in here to do (before reading the nonsense and getting sidetracked) and wish him well.
