WGphan92 Oops...
Tonight's Antelope definitely had a quick shakedown street tease by trey. No doubt about it. A bunch of people around me noticed it as well

WGphan92 Pretty certain it was intentional. He played a similar lick, then next measure definitely played it.
I won't be at a computer to download it anytime soon but I'll get the exact time when I give it another listen

MiguelSanchez is this going to be like the "fire on the mtn tease" in the 12/31/95 drowned? i've listened to that jam for 17 years, and i still don't hear it...

Because there is no tease.

Capricornio Just listened to it three times. I hear Trey doing a lick that almost has the same rhythm as Shakedown street, but doesn't have the exact rhythm nor does it have the same notes. To say this is an intentional tease is a stretch.

holy shit!! I've been calling nans (having been at that show) and I just heard it. DEFINITELY shakedown street tease from trey no doubt about it. Exactly at the 4:30 mark, its quick but you can hear its definitely intentional.

Dirty_M_The_Wizard Permalink
Dirty_M_The_Wizard I don't really believe this is an intentional shakedown st. tease. it has the same first 3 notes. which is the minor third, the second, and than the first chord tones of the chord. but following the first, trey plays the 7th note of the chord which isnt in the shakedown lick. i think trey is just a mastermind of coming up with licks on the spot and it just so happens that it contains 3 of the same notes in a similar rhythem. but in reality, there arent many rock and roll guitar licks that are left to be created, if there even are any. besides, if Trey really wanted to tease a GD song he would make it much more obvious.

not if it was in the heat of the moment, especially in a fast paced song such as Antelope. He's not thinking about it at the point, he's feeling it.

The_Slothelot I heard it immediately during the jam, on a second relisten it wasn't as clean as I thought but I still think it's there.

My humble opinion: It wasn't intentional at first, but Trey then realized what he had played and did it a couple more times ... I heard it for sure. In the AUD you can tell a bunch of people in the crowd noticed it as well, not just the few advocates here on this forum.
