Ok....not that it really matters, as time is a mere illusion & construct of the mind anyway, but...ever since 2009 (when I started wearing an Atomic Clock-synchronized digital watch) I have noticed that Phish's NYE countdowns always occur about 30-45 seconds early. This year was even worse...the countdown from 10 seemed to happen almost a full minute early and I was watching THE WEBCAST, which means it was probably 5-10 seconds before THAT!!!
I'm not complaining or anything.....I KNOW it doesn't REALLY matter....it's just something I have noticed at Phish NYE shows over the past few years, and I've never seen anyone mention it. But we are DEFINITELY celebrating 1/1/xx a few moments ahead of the rest of America.
But HEY, us phans generally ARE a few steps ahead of everyone else!

Don't have seconds on my phone, but it said 11:58 when they started counting down. Last year it was a a minute or so. We could have used those seconds for more jamming!

there's a lot going on behind the scenes at a show like that.....it isn't always easy to synchronize.....a quickly rehearsed gag....all those people and all that gear moving in low light.....the timing of cues.....having the countdown within the minute is pretty amazing considering the absolute shit show going on to pull off the gagwhat they needed was a really nice Mayan stone calendar.....would have dialed it in to the microsecond

@Roybelly is right..........that stuff has GOT to be tough to pull off, and timing it to the second is probably not a priority as much as making sure everything works, looks, and sounds great!!!All in all, I give this year's production a nice, big....
