An icon indeed. I sold my '78 Westy Deluxe so my wife could go back to school. A friend of mine worked at the Winnebago factory making the 20th century reincarnation of the classic Westy back in '94.

It's likely a marketing ploy so that in 5 years they can bring back the bus and sell more than they ever had. They should go out with a bang and make a Phish 30th anniversary model for 2013.

Tripped in one on the way to downtown Chicago circa 1988 in the winter. No heat. Ice crystals on the inside of the van on the roof and the window were really wild and shifted and melted and refroze as we talked. Or so it seemed! We arrived at The Music Box, a beautiful renovated old grand 1920s movie house and saw Jimi Plays Monterey then Mondo New York! The Jimi movie melted our brains into mush. Before it started they had a cool Duke Ellington music video of an "L train" in New York buzzing around the city to some mod jazz.That was a fun night.
