Charter One is the prime target.

I know, only around 8k can fit but they are finding a way to get it closer to 30k.

...so i thought i would make a thread about it.

Charter One is no smaller than UIC. I don't see why they would even have to increase the size.

I'd love to see them in Chicago again. It's been 10 years since the last time for me, couldn't do UIC in '10.

As I mentioned, not a numbers or planning guy. 30Kish was a number thrown out that suprised me but I pass along news anywhose.

I wouldn't doubt some modifications to increase numbers, but how many more seats...?

Take it with how many grains of salt you wish.

I should add that the pavilion is temporary, it gets taken down every winter.

Modifications can be made.

I don't doubt it could be made bigger. That just seems a little much. But even If they got it to 13-15k that could probably be doable for phish. They sold 35k tickets to alpine over the two days this year. So they could do two or three nights. We'll see...

I've seen a few shows at Charter One. It is easily one of the coolest outdoor venues I've been to. Chicago skyline just to the right and behind the stage. Lake Michigan immediately behind the stands.

Major downside - no tailgating. Now it's been a couple years since I've been there for a concert and I know they allow tailgating in the lot for Bear games so maybe this has changed.

Otherwise it's an AWESOME venue.

There is no way this can be made into a 30k person venue. No way. The beach and water is behind the venue. The parking lot would ruin the whole idea of this great venue if they turn that into the GA area.

Yeah that's the old runway for miegs field. The venue is to the left. That's not the concert field for Northerly Island.
