I've got to toss 8/22 Kansas City into this conversation. The response was fairly divisive for all the typical setlist-based reasons... But this show was, in a word, divine. Smooth flow in the second set with a coupla laid back tunes (and a really delightful BDTNL in the middle). Solid Tweez. Etc. I thought this show was blissful. Can't hold a candle to the titans of the summer, but *underrated* perfectly describes this music.

@dogloginvery very good call. i absolutely love that show. i think the segue from sand into nellie cane might be the best segue of the year. maze and gin are winners in the first set. the second set does lose some of its punch on the back half though. either way, i give it a resounding thumbs up.

The Roses> Jam can't be ignored! Oh yeah, the only Makisupa of 2012. Character Zero was NASTY as well! I was there and the energy at the Centrum was so so great! And also lots of "LEO!'s" from Trey!@MiguelSanchez said:

Wooostaaaa N2. Probably just saying that because it was my first show but still it had that Roses, a great Julius and a solid DWD. Mikes Groove wasn't the most amazing one of the year but it certainly was fun and the 2001 is in the the top 5 of 3.0.

Yeah a lot of the shows getting mentioned aren't underrated at all they're just not DCU 1 or SPAC 1 or BGCC 3 or Dicks.

I enjoyed the show, but it didn't hold up to a comparison with the raging fun of Burgettstown the night before. Yes, Antelope was killer, as were some other tunes in the second set. The first set was fun, but it was more like just a collection of fun songs, not a journey of some kind.@MySoula said:

respun SPAC 1, DC N1, and the 8/25 show....got to say...2012 was the bees knees. still sticking with my intial though...7/3 leads the pack for most underrated

My vote goes to Riverbend. The entire show is quality, great first set which I think is key to a truly great show and one of the jams of the summer in the KDF > Twist. The Blossom show from this year I think is rated just fine, easily the most boring 1st set of Phish I've ever been a part of.

I think it took time to grow on everyone. Right after the show all I heard was it was too mellow. It wasn't. It was perfect. The entire show just flows perfectly.
