I was discussing this with a few friends last night and we all felt like some time during their 30th year would be appropriate. We threw out a few dates like Halloween (or night before), 2nd night Festy X, 30th anniversary show, or as i argued 1st night Dicks. Then we got talking about ho many time we thought it might drop in past 3.0 shows like Hampton 09', Red Rocks 09', Gorge 09', Festy VIII, Telluride 10', Superball, NYE 10' 11' 12'(or 1/1/11). All misses.. Truthfully it will probably come out during some mid week, mid summer, tour buster in Utah or something. Im trying not to think about too much, exp with the great jams the boys have been lay down recently. But the question begs to be asked. When do u think TMWSIY will return?

Well I know I'm not the only one that was 100% convinced we were going into Gamehenge when Kung started up the other night. It was just a big tease, stay tuned for summer tour!

Maybe this is a noob question, but wouldn't Gamehendge be better suited for a small, quiet crowd? Wouldn't there be too much yelling/cheering/commotion to do it in the big venues they play nowadays?

Trey is over it. It was a pet project when he was a kid in college. Gamehendge will never grace the stage with Phish again. Not only is Trey probably over it, but I don't think the band really wants to play this thing again either. It was always just Treys. Personally, if they do play it, I hope it's not a show I'm at. Seeing history or not, that would suck. Give me face shredding jams over some cheesy narration in a huge arena that people won't respect enough to shut up for anyway. All that, and it sucks.

Mike said no. Just be happy to get 1 lizards and 1 tela a year. A forbins/mockingbird every year OR SO and an ac/dc bag every 4th night. We did get at least 2 kungs this year. Glad I was at SPAC for one of them.

Yeah gamehendge is basically all trey. Mike says he doesnt want to play it in the phish book. I think of thos as the equivalent of asking when traveller will be played in its entirety

They definitely tried for a joke this year, decorating the stage and floor the way they did, with an expectant "G" coming on...far as i can tell, that might have prompted a golf theme to begin with.."how can we fake-out Gamehendge and still come through with a "G"?" The golf worked too damn well, w/ the Kung coincidence, and all the song-name puns..
I agree, audience attention-span might really kill the event...
but I disagree that it is done and gone. IT will come back before they finish for good, I believe. In some format, maybe not a live playing of it, billed as Phish, but Gamhendge is not done and gone. Can't be. Too great a work of art. Too loved, too much possiblity.

Any saying they wouldn't do it cause to many talkers and they won't pay attention. I think they would be smart enough to do it at a show/venue they knew would be high percentage true fans. Festival or a smaller venue with a ticket that's fairly hard to get(uic style, or bgcc) something like that. Where they know the people seeking those tickets wouldn't be just a bunch of tag alongs looking for a good time. If they were to do it this year would be as good as any.

50th year I was thinking about this the other night, Vonnegut "freed" his characters on BoC and Steinbeck painted a pretty picture for his characters on Sweet Thursday compared to Tortilla Flat; I wonder of Phish will let their creations go too? Idk

Why assume a major venue or run? Phishtory suggests GH is much more likely to appear randomly.

i'd take trey doing it without narration (because lets face it he just narrates what the previous song tells you anyways) and also with an orchestra!!!

Gamehendge rose from its watery grave on 3/6/09. Its doors have opened a few dozen times a year ever since. You have probably been there at least once, and yet you didn't know where you were. It looked so much like the rest of the world.

With all due respect, Gamehendge has already come and passed. I don't know why, but Phish has pretty clearly indicated that they are not interested in playing the whole story again. It's also true that you never know what to expect from them so I wouldn't rule it out but I'd definitely stop assuming it's going to be played at the next festival or the next time they play your personal favorite venue or whatever - all of those things have happened several times over without the appearance of Gamehendge. There are great recordings of it - seek them out. Then next time you hear a song from the saga, soak in the fact that pieces of the story are scattered throughout each tour and over the many years. It's a living legend as long as they play any of those songs and the recordings of the narration remain. We are lucky.

December 6th, 2033. 50th anniversary celebration show in Albany, NY at the now very historic Albany Memorial Arena, formally Times-Union Center, formally Pepsi Arena, formally, The Knock blah blah blah. They will all be in their 70's and oh Gordon replaced by some young Hipster playing upright bass because he passed away in 2021 before even getting to 40th year anniversary. Just my guess.....

The songs are one thing, but the cheesy narration just ruins the whole flow of a show.Hell, even 3/4ths of the songs are cheesy.
