I love the tiny little jam that starts around 6:40, it almost goes to a dark place and for a brief minute you think they will soar, but then it spaces away
Still a nice little overlooked jam in my opinion
Thought it was a nice little "f*** you" to last year's third set.Hadn't even thought of that. Good point.
I loved The Wedge. Loved the 3rd set (however, admittedly haven't listened to it much since I've been home. There is just too much serious type II in the other 3 nights). They have been killing The Wedge the last couple of years. I really thought Worcester '10 was a monster as well as Dicks last summer ('12).
The Wedge always gets my love
The Wedge is always a fun song. I really liked the placement too, I think it is a good fit in the third set on NYE.

This is a song I've always remembered enjoying immensely over the years, but that Worcester 2010 version didnt do it for me in the context of that set, for whatever reason. (Which is funny because I was literally standing next to @bostonron.) Then last New Year, I wasn't feeling it in that slot at all.
So when they started playing it this year, @WifeyD and I looked at each other, with last year's set 3 fresh in our memories, and commented "Bold call, Cotton, lets see how this plays out for them. Really trying to prove a point, I guess. Not sure what point, but this cant be an accident."
And at that moment it dawned on me - Sand, Wedge...
Oh did we have a hearty laugh then. Plus had to explain it to some of our neighbors. They weren't buying it. Until the setlist unfolded.
But anyway, I thought it was a tight, energetic, bouncy version. What it should be.
the wedge at msg seemed weak and uninspired to me. like it often does.
i f***ing love that song and i dont think they have done the song justice consistently since the mid nineties. true story. always bottoms out right before the chorus(s). and the jam seems to wander, at best, for a few moments.
