Anyway, think of your worst Phish show and what was your thoughts walking out of the venue. Sometimes people say that after a Phish show is over you are on a buzz and think it was great but when you think about it later it wasn't so great (hence the 3 day rule).
I walked out high-fiving and hollering, it was awesome
Everybody hates on this show but I still enjoy listening to it, as said in the Comfort Foods thread
Being a 3.0 noob has its perks. It's pretty sweet actually!
I was pretty bored at night 2 of SPAC set 1. luckily set 2 raged. "Worst" show of the lowly 12 I have been lucky enough to attend. It's always a great feeling no matter how they play that you just get to share an expirience with them (Phish )i wouldnt say SPAC N2 was the worst show ive been to but i do remember being bored during set 1...
I wasn't thinking about the music. I was wondering how I was going to walk the 16 miles back to my car with blisters on my heels (from the 16-mile walk in) the size of golf balls. We flagged two rides, though, and before long we were flying down the highway, still glad we made it. Stopped at a diner about 3 hours later and was surprised at some Phish fans at a nearby table saying, "we deserved better." My thought at the time was the band gave exactly as much as they were able to.
I don't have one, but since most people would most likely say out of my shows seen, they'd probably go with 6/7/11. Even though I think the show is graciously underrated.6/7/11 is the least favorite show that i attended...

it's better to say:
i will never ever regret going to a phish show, no matter how "bad" it may be ("bad" being a term relative to other phish shows, it can't be bad compared to anything else)

I walked out disgusted and sad. I wouldn't even listen to Phish for almost 6 years after Coventry.still coventry, though the worst phish show i have seen, was one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters i have ever been on.

Always pops into my head when someone asks me this. My fourth show and my first three were 2/28/03 and IT so this show just came off extremely underwhelming, though there are still some highlights
First set was good which almost made the second set that much more disappointing

That being said i loved being there.@ledzepmaster said:That's fine. It was my first show. Listening back, I appreciate the uniqueness of the show. Horrifying lot scene and clear that the end was near. I actually thought to myself that they came back too soon. They would rally and string together a pretty solid summer in 03, but for me personally, it never felt right. 2-25-03 is really bad - Thunderhead? Seriously?
I guess at the time, Great Woods 2009 was the only show I left feeling like I didn't get as high. There were some moments, but it didn't really feel like a Phish show. Looking back, my first (12.5.95) wasn't a great show. Especially compared to that Dec. tour. And I rarely revisit this show at all. Except around my Phishiversary, or when I go on a Dec. '95 listening run. But even that show was more Phish then something like Great Woods 2009. I mean, they still jammed.
My final answer, based purely on music and music alone (because that night was f***ing epic for me) I have to say Great Woods 2009. But to be fair, I would take a bad Phish show over just about any great show by any other band.
And to add to some comments here, I have been "bored" at many 1st sets. Especially this past year. If you saw me 1st set then again deep 2nd set, you wouldn't even think I was the same person.
I had not been to a show since 11/23/97. I had gotten married, had kids and had not paid much attention to their live work beyond '97. I just kept listening to older shows on my Maxells. I decided to go see them again and my wife (at the time) came along, who was never a Phish fan. This was more of a get away from the kids and party opportunity than anything else. So, needless to say I was unpleasantly surprised by their sloppiness in the first set. Where was the fluidity I had remembered? Although I have never really gone back and given the show a listen, I do remember vaguely them getting it together in Set II and Trey "welcoming Mike back" and being pretty stoked when they started playing Seven Below, but all-in-all, I was so shit-faced by that point it was mostly a lost cause.
I've seen shows people would rank quite low but I've never walked out of a show bummed out and I don't regret a single show I've seen. As far as public opinion 6/6/09 and 2/24/03 probably get more hate than any I've seen. Still, 2/24/03 was the first show I saw in 2.0 and 6/6/09 was the first show I saw in 3.0 and I was front row. Very much enjoyed them both.
I look at the set w/ Esther and really wish I had it back, haven't heard it again.
Philly 03 made me stop seeing Phish until 2009.....

We all know a Phish show is a Phish show but all of us have seen our share of stinkers (unless you are super lucky).I'd say that if you've seen a stinker of a show, you've probably seen a lot of shows, so you're actually pretty lucky to have caught Phish that many times.
I have listened back to this show twice but have never bothered to rip these CD's into my digital Phish library.
Although, I can't bring myself to conclude that it wasn't worth it! Got 1 hour of sleep and headed to Biochemistry lab, feeling pretty damn good about myself.

I, too, have been very lucky to have seen mostly average-great shows. If I had to pick one low on the list, though, I'd probably go with 12/27/10. It was hell getting to Worcester in that massive snowstorm, first of all. Secondly, I was still flying high from the shows I saw during the smoking-hot Fall Tour that preceded that NYE run, which included Charleston N1 & N2, Utica, Providence, Amherst N1, and AC N2 & N3. I recall trudging through the snow and cold after the show thinking: "Meh". But the Hood the next night alone made the trip worth itmountains in the mist. Redemption.![]()

I was at Coventry and Vegas 04, which rank up there as some of the worst the boys have played, although both really do have their moments, and I am very glad I went to both of them for various reasons. Leaving both Coventry and Vegas I was more suprised than pissed off or upset. I was curious what was going on, and a little selfishly concerned that my band wasn't healthy enough and able to kill me with shows the way they used to. I am glad to say that those concerns are over, and I am very pleased with the 3.0 I have seen and heard.

Even though I think the show is graciously underrated.I think it is way under rated too. Instant Karma, anda new tune Rhymes. Then the Back on the Train > RnR > Mango to kick off set II. Antelope was fun too. There were WAY worse shows in 2011 and lots of worse ones in 3.0. 6/7/11 has some really solid stuff in it.

2/24/03. 8/9/04. Didnt listen to phish for 4 yrs after seeing 8/9 and hearing about how bad coventry was
I think one set and one full show fall into this category for me.
I've mentioned my feelings towards 6/20/04 multiple times on here, but I'll sum it up again.
After set 1, I was pretty disappointed in the way the boys were playing/sounding. Most of the set sounded sloppy to me, and there were multiple times Trey was audibly out of sync with the band. The Drowned jam that closed the set was decent, but, it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the first set (for me). I remember a lot of groans in the audience that set. Obviously, the famous 2nd set that ensued made up for it, but it was the first time in my phish phandom that I realized they were fallible.
I was at 12/30/11, and i'd say that's probably the one major clunker on my rather short list of shows attended. Energy was high in MSG nonetheless, but there were far too many flubs and ripcords for my taste.

@roverphish I almost listed 6/20/04 but the second set pushes it about this one for me.

I had a GREAT time and it is not a bad show by any means but of the shows I have seen I'd put this last on the list if ranking by music and fun had 1998-11-24 @roverphish I almost listed 6/20/04 but the second set pushes it about this one for me.wow, yeah New Haven 98 was FUN. Pretty much in my backyard. Seems we had similar thoughts on 6/20/04
nobody's gonna agree with me but i disliked bethel n2. n1 might've been my favorite show ever though.

Definitely walked out and was like maybe I'm done with Phish. Wish I went the next night in Sacramento because that thought would've went away very quickly. Oh well. I got back on the bus Fall '97 and its been nothing but good stuff since.I kind of want to hear this show now. I can't imagine walking out of a '96 show. They def were not '94, '95 or '97, but everything I have heard (and attended) from '96 (which obviously does not include this show) was pretty smokin'.

I was right.
The last 3 Mansfield shows. Big let downs.

so peaches bathtub and maze didnt quite do it for ya?
I think I've been pretty lucky with my shows, but I have to say that this one takes the cake:
Hear me out- this show started off on fire. Rocky Top opener was solid and I got my first Curtain, not to mention With!! But it seemed like the energy just fizzled out from the first set. There were some awesome highlights at this show but it is really hard to forget about a Joy second set closer and a mediocre Bold as Love encore.

2009-08-11came in to say this show. It was my first post break up show, and I may have been expecting too much. Very underwhelmed with the first set. The second set ALO-esque ending (Wilson, Chalk Dust Torture, Harry Hood, The Squirming Coil) sort of made up for it though. 1st set was definitely the most disappointed I've ever felt at a Phish show.
mike was drinking beer on stage the whole time
edit: had a grate time, way spun out
