Say what you will about mistakes in Coil, for me they didn't take away from the moment. That was a great encore. I kept thinking it was over. Page coil outro was a wonderful moment due to page killing it all night long. It was like the MVP nod. I was watching this and wondering why aren't the other guys leaving the stage? I figured it was just a new thing to stay out and give props to page in his time to shine. But then... Grind! Wonderful. I thought that was it for sure and then... they pick their instruments back up! Holy Hannah! First Tube'd
I suppose my point is that in some aspects I agree this was not a perfect show. There were no major jam moments (though Golden Age and Suzy were fun as hell) and there were clear mistakes. This was a damned good show over all though. The fact that it is the worst show of the run speaks a lot to the strength of the other nights.

Also all the girls around me were in love with Velvet Sea. Page is so dreamy. Point is if the chicks like Velvet Sea then let them play Velvet Sea!
LxL was my favorite moment of the night. Incredible short version.
Signed. Not a great show, but a good show. And I can't let you get away with calling that the best Suzy ever, but it might be one of the best under 10 minutes or without a > Suzy Jam Reprise.Yeah, the "Best Suzy ever" comment is a bit of a stretch. I dont know how anyone can pick a best Suzy when its been played more or less the same exact way over 8,000 times.

Most enjoyable Suzy for Jimmymac? cant argue with that.
@parrott56 said:No, of course you can't argue with that. And it was definitely the best I've seen myself. I was thinking mostly of the handful of jammed-out Suzys -- 9/14/00, 6/17/04, 8/7/10 and a few others.Signed. Not a great show, but a good show. Best Suzy I have heard. Love the cowbell and Page was destroying that piano. @Slothberries seeing as this Suzy was not the same as any other Suzy says a lot. You will never again hear a honkeytonk cowbell Suzy. I love it.Careful, now
I had a great time on the 29th. I was on the floor, the energy in the room was amazing, the playing from the band was great for most of the night as well. Was the it best show Phish has ever performed? Not even close. However that didn't take away from me being able to enjoy the show for what it was worth.
I feel like people forget that seeing a "subpar" Phish show doesn't mean that they can't enjoy it. Yea, the jamming wasn't as deep as the 28th or 30th, but the show did exactly what it had to for the band. It gave them a moment to breathe before they launched straight into the ridiculousness of the 30th.
I had a great time at the show, and I could care less if someone feels teh show should've been a 2 as opposed to a 3.

exactly. Just have fun, damnit!!!Even in 2011, when I had a 101 fever after the first night, I still loved being in MSG for the rest of the run. There was nothing else I'd rather be doing for NYE. Even with mediocre shows at best and getting wook flu'd, I still had an amazing time.
I still laugh my ass off at the beginning of Wading, with Mike dropping bombs on the Velvet Sea, Albeit by mistake.
And, the encore. Page laying down a sweet Coil jam under the banners of Joel and Elton John...lovely!... okay, do an a Capella number... OKAY, go back to your instruments and rage one last tune for us! the vibe in that round room before First Tube was second to none.
twas a good show. not a great show. but i still had a friggin blast with my buddies.
