I'm sorry but Watkins was only 40,000, barely a fest. You can fit that many at Alpine, let phish bring the party and invite us all. Another 60k-80k capacity fest, hell lets see Cypress numbers. The more the merrier. These festivals were made for the masses and to not leave anyone behind. We need something bigger than Watkins.

Watkins was capped at 60,000 and it's easily accessible to the majority of their fan base, so it's not the locations fault why they didn't bring the bigger crowds that the 90s phests did. Phish now isn't phish then, so I don't think we'll ever see those numbers again.
Also, why is everyone so certain it won't be at Watkins?? Did I miss something? I mean, I know it can be anywhere but why not Watkins again? How can you be so sure??
I think it will be at the glen. Or so I hope...I can practically walk there! Lol next year is the 40th anniversary of when the grateful dead/allmans/the band played at Watkins so there's another reason to celebrate at the historic track. Just a thought.
As long as its on the east coast I'll be there, but I'm hoping for another hometown festival.

I'm not doubting how awesome it was, getting through 2011 w/o being able to go to a show alone was tough as it was. I just think Phish deserves a bigger venue. And regarding what @WGphan92, the boys could easily draw the numbers they did at previous 1.0 & 2.0 fests. If they choose Watkins, great... I'm there. I just think they're gonna go bigger this year.

Watkins Glen once had a fest where like 750,000 people attended, I think the attendance was considered low for SBIX, (only 30,000) or so because of a few other reasons-1. Holiday weekend, $250 tickets in a bad economy, and probably over-saturation of shows at the time in the Northeast...All of these reasons have been tossed around here before..
