finally watched the NYE gag from this year. personally that it was way better than steam last year...

steam was just one song and the gag ended with the song. The gag this year went to the end of the encore. I wasnn't a fan of the Steam gag, but I was barely conscious for it

I thought the Steam itself was really good...and the gag was fun but I thought this one was better because it really involved the entire set. The Golf theme was really genius and caught everyone off guard. Plus watching the boys blast ping pong balls at people was hysterical.

I don't think the epicness of the Kung and tie in with the golf carts is getting anywhere near the attention it deserves for how sick it was.

Upon leaving the arena, phans were treated to the gag's punchline in the form of a maple syrup car which was crushed by a disco cannonball on the front steps of the venue!
One more reason why you can't TUCK with Phish NYE in South Phlorida..........

at the time, im in the moment, digging the whole atmosphere..however upon reflection..i found it a bit annoying. a lot of wasted time waiting for something to happen. but finally waiting for nothing at all. just a bunch of people hitting golf balls out into the audience...seriously?
it was perfectly bizarre for phish, and the music played amidst it all was good and all, but the gag seemed half-baked, throw together, lacking in any unifying theme..except..golf?
btw, i kinda hate golf. doesn't help.
