Who art in rhombus,
W00kie be thy name.
These hippies come
With guitar and drum
On tour as it is in Gamehendge.
Give this day our daily toke
And forgive us our WSP stats
As we forgive spreadheads that come to our Phish shows.
And lead us not into the Biscuits
But deliver us from Umphrey's
Fantasy and Beer
Draws tons of pricks into town (legislators, staff, lobbyists) and these twatwaffles get all the good parking (reserved), even though they show up later then everyone else.
Other than that, all is peachy. Bright sunshine, still single digits though.
Morning!
Have to do some extensive repairs to my car, not happy about dropping the cash for that. Engine's rattling and making some awful noises.
So, has anybody here ever, you know, got down with someone special while a Phish song was playing? I was listening to 8/19/12 II when my girlfriend jumped me last night during the intro "crowd noise" part right before Crosseyed started. It was sort of awkward to be going while the boys were chanting "STILL WAITING" in the background. And if you haven't, what songs/jams do you think would be best to "get down" to?
And this morning I'm walking out to my car singing to myself "...and I need one more...avocado..." to the tune of Midnight Rider.
@DriedupGoliath - I've never really been much for background music during those special times. Take it or leave it generally. But if its phish, they better not be singing.
So we made fish tacos last night and I got 2 avocados, thinking we'd slice them up and put them on. But instead I made guac, which of course we ate a lot of not leaving enough for tonight. So today I'll get 1 more avocado at the store and mash it in so we have enough. We just bought fajita materials last night when we went grocery shopping. Your post about tacos has pretty much sealed the deal that they're being made tonight. I need to eat mexican food at least once a week.

Wednesday is my derp day -- no teaching today. My son woke up before me this am (which NEVER happens) and started rambling about Flash, Hulk and other lesser known comic book heros. Im f***ed.
As for guppie-making music? I am down with an ambient jam (ie: storage jam) or Carini (@bostonron) =)
Edit: I made mexican last night too! I had truffled cheese in my burrito which added a nice new flava. I also had some avocado, but the two kids i was babysitting for ate them all.
@cupuscakus What is truffled cheese? Sounds interesting.I get it at Trader Joes (Which, BTW, has the best cheese selection for cheap) -- its a mild Italian cheese with bits of truffles in it. I made truffle quesadilla with spinich as well as homemade Mac and Cheese with it. Adds a little umph to plain things
Or any funk/soulSign'd. If we are keeping Phish out of the mix (which I normally do), I'd go wtih Greyboys, Soulive, AL Green and my personal fav - Otis Redding
Made seasoned catfish tacos on a natural wood grill New Years day, twas a tasty delight with slaw, lime juice, and some quesadilla cheese on corn tortillas...no avacado. But I do love avocados.
Still got the ill today. Ate 1/2 an English muffin with some butter this morning, which is newsworthy.
Stay healthy all!
Good morning all. @Dreidupgoliath - @Ivy_light should be able to chime in on you topic du jour. She's done, like, scientific research into the best possible Phish baby making music. I think she determined the Island Tour Cavern to be the most appropriate.
I'll add 1997.12.3 Possum> Jam.
And the Dublin Cavern as well (got out shined by the IT, but still funky as hell).
Welcome to the world of super heros @cupuscakus..Ive been in here a while, its not so bad.
Well y'all, Dominic has the w00k flu..no school today and he's having breakfast in bed.
I have decided to train and run a 10k. The race is April 13 and I am very excited about the whole thing. I do love a goal.
Agreed on the ambient jams. Still awaiting...that sounds..confusing.

And RUN FOREST RUN!!!
Morning. That's a fantastic goal. I can't remember who posted it, but someone mentioned doing a 5k quarterly and a 10k semi-annually. That sounds like it would be a pretty good goal for me. Most hopefully as a part of some smoking cessation program. The half marathon was a bit too much for a yearly goal (although I will complete a full one at some point).

There are a lot of "from the couch to a 5k" training programs out there. Let me know if you need some recommendations. Remember to only increase what you're doing in small increments and stretching is the most important thing you can do - both before and after you train.
To continue the beer discussion from last night just a little bit more. @muggleballs, several people were suggesting Lambics, which were included in my "sour" suggestion.
True Lambics are extremely sour and funky. I love them, but they're definitely an acquired taste. Some Lambics (pronounced lam-beek) are blended with fruits. A favorite among many who do not care for a general "beer" flavor would be Lindeman's Framboise, which I believe was suggested by @conphucius. Definitely give this a shot. It tastes like fresh, tart, raspberries.
After last night, I can kangfirm that hypothesis for 4/5/98.
Good Morning Everyone.Love Lindeman's Framboise. The Peche (Peach) one is really good, too.

Wasn't it just a year or so ago that you started walking a ton more? Or had that been part of the routine for a while?

I am extra kill-y today as it is the first day of the legislative season.Killing silently is a tall order, but a quick look at an anatomy chart will show that the larynx is an easy enough target—providing you can make a stealthy submerged approach, sneak up on your victim, and catch him unaware. Once that's accomplished, grasp his hair as close to the scalp as you're able to and yank his head back while using your Ka-Bar combat knife to make a lateral cut across his throat. Make sure you sever both the carotid artery and jugular vein while piercing the windpipe, and press hard; the larynx is a tough, rubbery piece of tissue.

Good Morning Everyone.I do like the blueberry of that! So does that all fall under the 'beer umbrella'? I'm pretty ignorant about such things. They gave me a black and black to try last night which is Guinness and black currant something which was pretty tasty.

Learning things is fun
Got screwed at the end of the day yesterday w/ 3 "hot" jobs flying at me with less than 20 minutes to go. 3 engineers calling, changing, changing back, then again, changing info and wanting top priority. This morning, I come in to a shitstorm of sticky notes and work prints that I left myself...I busted my ass getting two done before 8:30...now...I feel like I worked hard enough for the whole day. Poor third engineer... losing my give a shit early today.
Brought my puter to Wrk today...have to attempt to organize...and trying again to stop smoking... so I gotta keep busy.
Yay for goals @Ednaz, boo for w00k flu @Dominic, feel better lil' guy. And to all us sickies...kick that w00k flu ass!
Edit: AND Trey botches it!

Finally have the computer back today. Raging my resume. I like working under presure. Tom Brady'd
To weigh in on f*** music. I am a pro at making f*** mixes. I have a sick series of ambient DJs called "Background Beats" has soem of the chillest, most laid back background music I've ever heard. I've also added some Otis Redding, STS9, Ambient Phish, Lisa Hannigan, Damien Rice, Tom Waits, Sinatra...all great for adding to the moment. I try and get a nice rhythm and flow to these mixes for long stretches spent in bed (which is always the goal). Full weekend spent rolling around in bed is my favorite past time. Amen to f*** mixes.
Amen to f*** mixes..Yes, congrats on your accomplishment. I used to be quite the runner in high school. My thighs and calves are legit freakishly big and cut. I mean, like seriously. If my mom threw me on a bike when I was a kid and I rode competitively, I would probably be the greatest rider in the history of riding.
But seriously, congrats.
GM folks. So 12/31 Alaska... Trey is feeling that solo. That makes one of us.
ba-dum cha!
.net, fix this for me. Please and thank you.
Morning @jimmymac03Awesome. That is a result of being bored at work. I also did have a roast beef sandwich for dinner last night. It was pretty awesome. We did a roast on Sunday so I sliced the last of it for some Hetty sandwich action.
I laughed at your sandwich thread..
