1.9.13 - .net's equivalent to 11.17.97

FunkyCFunkyDo Permalink
FunkyCFunkyDo One of the best days I've ever witnessed on .net. The day was the tops. The posters were typing with incredible precision, creativity, and passion. The thread selection was original and flowed well. Teases, mini-jams, and secret language permeated each set. I mean, just look at this setlist! (special thanks to @Euclid for the shownotes) If Winter '13 continues to produce this type of quality, I'd say we're in for a great year on .net.

Set 1:
Sourciest Source Sauce Rumor > McKayla Maroney jam > fact checking and speculation jam [1] > Shenanigans > ticket bet jam > football? > Come at me Bro -> Maple Syrup jam -> Rumor Thread [2]

Set 2:
Sourceless Reporter > Sourcedome Jam[3] > Trey's Dreamcatcher, Fat Journalist > Running Man[3] > Going A Sock[4] -> Intensity[5] -> A Sock Jam[6], Meta

[1] McKayla Maroney tease
[2] Shenanigans, Keanu Reaves, Maple Syrup, and bacon teases
[3] Sourceless Reporter tease
[4] Rumor Thread tease, Maple Syrup tease, WGI President tease
[5] Tina Turner tease, Biebers Legs tease
[6] NSFW

Some other highlights include:
- Watkin's Glen Shenanigans thread officially went a camera
- Molly thread made us sooper happy and informed
- @Patwich created awesome headwarmers
- McKayla Maroney's ears caught fire
- Glowsticks ruined dinner, Reba, and many other phamily activities
- Reba actually ruined glowsticks
- The best cereal ever was almost determined
- @cupuscakus may have saved @gordeaux's life... or brain

johnnyd People say that dotnet's heyday is long gone. That its not the same as 2009 and 2010 and we'll never revisit those glory years. But days like yesterday just prove we are in our prime. You can tell how much fun the posters are having out there in their offices and classes and on their mobile devices. And as long as the users are having fun, the results speak for themselves. The threadboarding is tight, yet loose, and almost anything can go Type II or fully a camera at any given time. But the composed sections of reasoned arguments still get more or less nailed.

Here's to many more years of plugging along, and hitting that magic every now and then.

FunkyCFunkyDo @cjfphan21 You have a heavenly singing voice but I was counting on you to write out Set 3 from WG Shenanigans and maybe find a SBD too. Right now only a few DATs circulate and folks like @kipmat are being incredibly patient awaiting the release.

Help us, @cjfphan21, you're our only hope.

Okay, I'm working on it. I've got a SBD patch coming in the mail soon, so I'll get as many copies out as I can ASAP. I'm keeping up with set 3 so far, but I think there were some teases and guest appearances we missed in set 2, so I'll listen back once I get that patch in and update.
