So, I've never really had the "itch" to learn to play an instrument before. I mean, yeah, of course I've done some light strumming, but definitely nothing I'd consider to be real, actual air guitar.But after being in NYC for the MSG run, I was just awed by the impressiveness with which the fanbase serenades the band with histrionics the likes of which I've never seen.
And now I'm thinking this will be just the thing to allow me to express my enthusiasm for what's going on stage without ruining the moment for everyone else in attendance by, you know, making sound at a rock concert(apart from what's coming out of the speakers).
Thoughts? Where should I turn? Any recommendations of people with good form that I could mirror?

Get the leg up nice and high. Make sure its perpendicular to the floor. Big finishes with a windmill stroke.

If it were him I wouldn't have posted it....I had a good buddy who did a local air guitar tournament. It is really intense and very hard to place, even if you bring the hot fire, which my buddy did. Song choice is crucial. I would suggest a medley. Who doesn't love pacman...@mfhgreyboy

wrote out chords for easy phish songs
then i post it and read "Air" in the title. Thank god it's f***ing friday

I'm glad this thread popped up, I ordered my air guitar (Fender AirMaster HH Special) a few weeks back and I haven't seen it yet. Here's a pic of the thing...
I hope it pops up, big reward if some one happens to stumble across it.

I'd say the most important part is to remember to not actually pick up a guitar when you play.
