From the leads in the glorious Shenanigans thread, provided by @Euclid, it looks like we may indeed be getting something at Watkins this summer. So in this thread we discuss who we'd like to see it be. Wish lists, Speculation, rumors, shenanigans, whatever.....

One idea is that Gathering of the Vibes could get the hell out of Bridgeport and go to Watkins Glen instead. They always have the best lineup but I really don't like Seaside Park. It's like a little oasis squeezed in between a dirty sound and a dirtier city.Sorry pal Seaside Park was confirmed a few weeks ago. Bridgeport is shitty but last year at Seaside Park they ran that festival so well. No sketchy locals, the cops were friendly, and I never saw or heard one nitrous tank.

@Superballin said:Yeah after the guy got killed in 2010 they realized things needed to change big time. Last year was awesome. Come on back this year.@patper said:That's good to hear - the last time I was there was 2009, and it was sketch central. It was extremely off-putting. So lets say it's a Further/Allman Brothers festival over the weekend of the 40th anniversary... Who would the supporting acts be?Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson.

Do they still play?

Kind of, but considering the occasion, they might do it

@patper said:I have to say this year had a real lack of sketch. It was my first Vibes and it was really cool how peaceful it was. And as far as staying in Bridgeport, I read that they just recently signed a contract for 5 years with the city.@Superballin said:Yeah after the guy got killed in 2010 they realized things needed to change big time. Didn't the head honcho say after last years festival they probably wouldn't be looking to have any more?
No.. When questioned last summer about a phish return he said that "this year (2012) we will be focusing on racing only" that was just for 2012. If you read the most recent interview, (which "confirms" no phish 2013) you'll see he is more than interested in hosting more festivals and they are meeting with different promoters and such. I'm confident something is in the works for this year.
I hope another fest
