which one did you personally have the most fun at??

now that we are in the middle of winter with no tour announcement, really nothing solid to look forward to phish-wise, i figured we could all use a reminder of how great last year was.

i am going to go with 7.6.12 SPAC myself. i only made it out to 4 shows last year but this one was the most memorable. i was on my honeymoon. got to dance it up with my wife, and had some great neighbors. and i love when a first set rages so hard that you truly don't even care what they play second set. this was one of those nights for me.

jaqtothephuture I had the most fun at Denver night one! The f*** Your Face antics had me howling. So effing funny. I enjoyed the music from night two more but my crew and I were laughing pretty much the entire show on night one. A very fond memory of mine. :)

mfhgreyboy It would be really hard to pick between: 6.15, 6.16, 7.8, and 12.29. And I only made 6 shows this summer! That's a pretty good percentage to be in the mix for "most fun" show of the summer.
Score: 0

bostonron Permalink
bostonron N2 SPAC and N2 Dicks were by far my favorite shows attended. Has everything to do with the people I was with, how those trips evolved, the amazing L I had and those incredible 2nd sets. SPAC N2 might get the edge based on pre/post show festivites. They are both so close though.

Honorable mention to 12.30.12 and Worcester first night.

JayDubya Permalink
JayDubya It's a tough call because we had a great time at the two Alpine shows. Met a bunch of great .netters, etc.

But the 8/22/12 KC show was a great adventure for @MrsDubya and I. A new (awesome) venue to see Phish at and a whole new outdoor Phish experience for us after seeing so many shows at Alpine over the years.

It was just she and I, we were pretty much anonymous down there. Made friends with our neighbors at the show and that was about it.

The show itself musically was pretty standard so the adventure side of going to see Phish puts this one over the top.

Punchyouinthejejunum 6-15. The vibes were perfect. The energy and excitement was palpable following a good Worcester tour opening run the week before, and Bonnaroo. That, combined with it being a new venue for the band, the weather was absolutely perfect that day, and it was many people's first show of the year made for an awesome pre show atmosphere. We were all so excited! I had driven from NC and any time you travel a long way to see the band, it just makes it that much more exciting. And hey, they played a great show! Best day of my summer without question

would had liked to gone to more shows, but times and places didnt work out for me.....

hanging in the secrete parking lot otherside of the park watching the balloon heads and N2o mafia go nuts was funny while we waited for the traffic to clear up a bit....

DanceTheJig728 Permalink
DanceTheJig728 Damn this is tough, I'd say it would have to be between night 2 of AC, SPAC 3, or NYE. But then again, NYE is pretty much "next-level fun" (as quoted by my buddy Jeffrey on NYE) so it would be unfair to the other two.

Thus leaving it to AC 2 and SPAC 3, which when I think about it were 2 very differen't types of "fun". AC was balls to the wall, party vibe, Fear and Loathing like craziness that was just something else. And one of my first real "holy shit" moments was Lighteca, that was very memorable for me. I also (vaguely) remember the split seconds before Crosseyed this girl turned to me asking me to call second set opener and I look over at her with my dime size pupils and spit out "Crosseyed".

SPAC 3 was my last night of tour and while it had a very sad vibe to it knowing I had no Phish show to go to anymore, it was perhaps the most amazing night of my life. I've said before on here that my girlfriend and my buddy and his girlfriend all suprised me by showing up at the show but I didn't get to them until the second set. First YEM encore which I thought I wasn't going to get after seeing 14 Leg 1 shows, nuff said.

And after all that typing I still can't pick.

MomaDan Probably AC2. I was loading up a bowl of some deemsters at set break and this wookette walks up to me, obviously seeing what was going on. She grabbed my jeans and have me an over-the-pants HJ right there in the middle of Bader. After that I let her hit the pipe second then lite the mouthpiece a bunch of times just in case. She strolled like 20 steps up and sat next to what I assume was the chief wook, kissed him and layed back down.

It felt a little wrong but hey you only live once

Chilly Permalink
Chilly It is really tough for me. I had a blast at all the NYE shows, but something about Summer shows is magical to me. I guess they both have different reasons for being great, because I do love indoor shows and MSG is the place to see one, but outdoor venues sometimes, just get me.

All the AC shows are definitely in contention, I had a awesome group of friends at all three shows, and between the vibe at that place and how great Phish played (AND SIERRA NEVADA FOAM) I had an absolute blast each night. SPAC n2 would be the second one in contention. Like AC, I had a blast at all three nights, but night 2 was just awesome. I was in the perfect place sobriety (or lack-thereof) wise, Phish played fantastic and everyone around me was just having so much fun and it was just spectacular. I think after two great shows at Jones Beach, the excitement of camping at Lee's and all the shenanigans that came along with it combined with the boys killing it on night one just culminated into a time of times on night 2. Oh and the fact that Phish absolutely killed it, made for probably my favorite show of the summer.

Nothing better than the boys coming out of the gates of a 3-night run and throwing down at the first show, and then the next night, when all you have been thinking and talking about with your friends is how you have no idea how they were going to top last night, and then they DO IT. Oh Phish how I love you.

The lot is just a complete free-for-all, met up with a friend I hadn't seen since All Good the year before, found a ton of great stuff on lot, ate some free moonshine fruit on the way in. Musically one of the more bland shows I'd end up seeing this summer but a great vibe nonetheless. Also I still think that Golden Age > Ghost is extremely underrated. Fun Tweezer antics too.

Musically its FYF Dick's N1 - no contest.

Although NYE is incredible, in the winter its more of a temporary escape from the planet than a celebration of its glory.

12/28/12 due to the spontaneous nature of our trip. We decided to go on the 27th and left Pittsburgh at 12:30 am on the 28th. We got into NYC at 7:30 and I dropped my friend off at the Garden as I went to look for a parking spot. At this point I had slept for 1.5 hours in a 24 hour period. I finally parked the car at 104th and Central Park West at 10:0am (big thanks to wefunkradio.com for the two and half hours of entertainment as I looked for a spot!) I met my friend down near the Garden and we waited in line until 4:00 when we got tickets from the box office. First row in the corner of 109, as close as one could be to Fishman!! We then headed to the car and began our steady intake of tincture with our water. We were in the first group of 10 to enter the venue when they opened the doors, and we went and met some great people in our section and had a blast!! Everyone in our section was very kind to one another, sharing what it was they were holding. Anyways, we took enough tincture, in combination with the lack of sleep that things got really interesting, and what a night it was. In addition it was my friends first show since Hampton 04 so it was a special night! Hell we had so much fun that we decided to book a 85 dollar hotel room in Jersey and do it all over the next night before heading hoe after the 29th!
