...If I'm reading the question right. (what stood out for my personal live shows?)

Totally in the pocket at DCU2 - the whole venue. It was just disgusting. My personal definition of a phish party.
The segue in at SPAC 2 is easily my favorite of 3.0, and maybe ever. Again, great placement, super fluid energy.
To say that the version in the middle of a Garden Party was my third best of the year...
Yup, thats my song of the year.

Tweezer bc of the phenomenal one I saw on 12/28, which was also my favorite jam I saw this year.

I feel Sand was the all around MVP, but I personally keep going back to the Cincy Twist.

dkast85 Permalink
dkast85 IMO the MVP song of 2012 was Sand
Light was a close runner up...

For the jams I saw in person i would say the best was Rock n Roll > Ghost at Long Beach.
Carini at MSG on 12/30/12 was a close runner up...

_________________________ my song of the year was Slave to the Traffic Light. It closed out the MSG 2011 run. Thern I saw it between awesome versions of Crosseyed and Light at Bader N2. Then the EPIC version at Joonze beach with the full moon coming out from behind the clouds; it seemed that Trey and the moon were in conjunction junction, what's your function? An then finally the best Slave I saw was the bookend to the best phish set I saw this year, if not in my existence. The version on 12-30 is plain damn good

They_Call_Me_The_Sloth Alumini Blues... cause I got a degree! Sand, Carini, and Light are the big picks, but I really enjoyed me some limb x limb and twist. All had great moments this year

parrott56 Finally got my long-awaited first Mike's Groove at show #18 for me, which was Burgettstown. Solid Mike's, exploratory 'Paug, and Simple > Light (featuring jams both space- and calypso-tinged) made for some killer lunchmeat.

My second Mike's Groove came just two shows later at Deer Creek 1 (my 20th show) with some more killer lunchmeat: my first McGrupp > jammed-out BOTT > my first Henrietta > a Trey/Fish drum duel leading in to 'Paug.

But my single-song highlight of the seven shows I saw this year? Probably the Cincy Twist.

Babyrattlesnakes Permalink
Babyrattlesnakes Peaches and Buffalo Bill had been on my list for awhile. I happily crossed both off at Cincy (not to mention Shaggy Dog, Light Up, and Saw it Again, all pleasant surprises)...

but...

that Cincy Twist left a big impression on me. I think that's the best jam of the three shows I saw this summer, although the Star Lake Light is right there behind it.

Fluffhead because I finally got one (at nearly my 50th show) on 12/28.

It was GLORIOUS!
Dude that is ridiculous, I've only seen 16 shows and I've caught 2 Fluffheads. It's crazy how those stats work out sometimes.
15 shows and 4 fluffheads for me. not to mention a dwd, gin, bowie, suzy and bdtnl everytime ive gone to see them (obviously not gonna get repeats during same run). theres worse songs that could follow me around thats for sure.
The crazy part is that it is pretty much my favorite Phish song and it took that long. I'm so happy that I can go to a show and truly not have anything that I feel that I "need" to see them play.
