Has it been considered that perhaps they release the details on short notice to keep the numbers down? I can't imagine that money is much of an issue for any of them at this point. I personally have preferred the ease of use the last 2 fests have provided. I think 30-40k is a great number for a fest.

It is a little frustrating to have the entire summer held hostage but we're entering the 4th year since the reunion and 10+ years of seeing them for most of us. Personally, anybody that knows me knows that I can't be held to any plans from May to Sept. until tour dates are announced.

Sorry to be that guy. I'm still willing to participate in any goofy endeavor to get the band's attention on the matter.

Looks2Much Let's try it with some subtlety, maybe send pics of weather outside your window in to Wake Up With Al, but write Phish Festival Dates Please RLM! in the snow on your windshield

Could we order a pizza to their office with "What Are The Fest Dates?" spelled out in black olives...? (They're smaller and therefore easier to arrange into letters.)

Maybe we should hang banners from the bridges near their office, "Welcome Home Troops, Now What The F*CK are the Phish Fest Dates?"

If we don't know by Valentines Day we could try they old 'you get more flies with honey' approach and send piles of Valentines Day cards and edible arrangements all with gushy, lovey, perhaps dirty, messages inside.
"If you tell me the dates of the Phish fest I'll let you ____ your ____ in my _____ or maybe I'll even ____ in your _____ and then we can _____ until the neighbors call the cops, they don't call it Red Light Management for nothing you dirty _____!

We could send a fake headline into Jay Leno, "Fiscal Cliff Solution Found, Congress Says: No Ink Until Phish Fest Leaked!"

I think that it's either between Facebook, Twitter, or possibly even Change.org (even though most subject matters here are much more serious).

Whatever route is taken, lets take action and bring it to life ASAP.

Jayem I don't get why they can't announce tour details sooner. I bought my niece Bieber tix in December for a July show!!

They obviously know the fan base is older now and has real life to contend with.

roybelly now that i have had my jest....in all seriousness

I'd like to see them get the info out sooner....although in their defense, the last couple of years they have at least rolled out the announcement for terr about the time most people have their tax return back

with that said.....

maybe we need to get some old style british secret service agents to get in there and get that info......guys who smoke pipes, sip tea, and affectionately call people "old chap"...that is what we need....a good ruse/diversion and a couple of good chaps to get in there and get that microfilm of the terr posters

SicMD Nothing you can or should do will convince a band to do what you want because you want it. Ill bet its still in the works and you need not know anything about it till its time. why just becasue...... what they do is prob bigger than any of us knows. that being said this will be the 10th one at its 7th location and will be its best. Not only is patience a virtue its for your own good......Jerry once said, all good things in all good time.

Whereas the undersigned may be absent from said event should they be forced to make a request for respite at a point where it is unlikely to be granted by their benefactors

just fiddling around but it is certainly flowery....the reality for me....between multiple spinal surgeries over the last few years for me, and having a baby this summer, I have had very little opportunity to see in phish in 3.0

Things are finally getting to the point where a festy and at least one multi-night run is in the cards for me if I can get my leave request in before the rest of the jackals at work. I would love to know as far ahead as I can....but I think some of it has to do with the band having ink on paper.....all the ducks in a row. I would simply ask that the petition, should it grow wings, not be unrealistic in terms of the timelines that the band is working with. However, asking the band to let us know as soon as they really know would be super cool of them......like a save the date card for a wedding to be followed with more details in the invitation proper.

Dan615 A little late to the party, but people could always call Mike's hotline and leave messages about when the fest is. Also, he checks his Twitter, so you could just tweet Mike. Or just post on their Facebook page.

hmmm, this might work.

It would be really cool to get a large amount of people to all tweet the same message at once, instead of a couple people retweeting it. It would be a huge line of messages filling his twitter account displaying a true desire for an answer.

What do you think @johnnyd ?

johnnyd Thats kinda what I was hoping for, @steamstash.
Like if they could see a coordinated effort. Unfortunately my spare time to spearhead such things has been pretty minimal. So I'm wide open to ideas.

But I probably could get around to drafting and formatting the "mock resolution" in google drive or something so everyone could link it...

Erin_Dances It would be cool to turn this - or some announcement at some point down the road - in to a fund raising idea somehow. Like if .net/PT/FB/etc can raise x amount by a certain day then dates will be announced by the end of next week. If not, we have to wait two more weeks or something like that. Any $$$ still gets donated. Just spit balling here. Obviously someone who has some sort of say over when things get announced would have to be involved.

mgh2001 Permalink
mgh2001 I disagree Johnny, not a great idea to bombard our favorite bands management for faster dates. I think they do a good enough job, in fact I don't believe dates are finalized as early as a lot of people think. Sure most may be, but some must be signed only weeks prior to the official release of dates.

Might not be a tour this summer. They might do one in the fall or early winter. Plans might not be finalized.
