soo fun. love the way trey toys with the manteca riff, and the way the crowd EXPLODED with excitement when fishman dropped the beat into manteca.

Just listened to this the other day. Truly an awesome jam and a definite 3.0 highlight. Unfortunately it got lost in the shuffle along the way due to all the amazing Phish moments that happened in 2012

I felt like that jam got lost in the shuffle a bit as well and didn't get quite the respect it deserves. It's probably not the best Light of the year (either BGCA or Dick's) but it might be the one with the highest relisten value

The start of Manteca was all Page. You can start to hear it at about 3:50 then Trey catches on and when both of them are synced up Fishman figures it out too and rolls with the drum beat. Basically Page hints at it, Trey starts dancing around the lick and Page brings the whole band in

Agreed. Agreed and Agreed! Kind of weird you mention this because I went to this show, and last night i was watching the whole 2nd set again and was loving it!
I remember that night during the Antelope right when it snaps into insane mode, this cazy guy came barreling through my group of friends and I and almost knocked me clean off my feet. It was awesome though! lol

This was one of my first holy shit moments. Trey seemed to be looking at me just before they went into Manteca and I like to think I gave him the head nod to go into it fully, Fish must have seen me too

that whole 2nd set opening sequence of crosseyed -> slave > light -> manteca -> light was amazing
i was way out of it during crosseyed to the point where the opening a of slave almost knocked me over...luckily lighteca was there to bring me back to my feet and dancing

As soon as Trey played the first note of Manteca, I started jumping with joy. Screaming CRAB IN MY SHOW MOUTHHH! Haha awh man... AC was so dank and an awesome 3 nite run to start my 23 show run this summer. 26 including 12/28 29 & 30

Great second set. Actually things started heating up with the Antelope and Suzy from set 1. I was just too damn far away to appreciate it, though. Please play some arenas this year!!!!!
