Great post OP! It's so easy and inexpensive to go check out smaller bands that I don't know why more people don't do it. What's the worst that can happen if you don't like the tunes? So you're down five or ten bucks, and you get to hang out with (probably) like-minded people and enjoy a few drinks. It's worth exploring live music sometimes, especially if you find that one band that really does it for you!

I listened to a bit @Patper, they sound pretty good! I would love to see em. I've never lisnted to Railroad Earth but I'm going to check them out at the House Of Blues Boston in Feb. then -> Animal Collective a couple weeks later.

all joking aside, that a good blog you posted. I exposed myself last September to a weekend Fest (Soupergroove) with all up and coming bands that i enjoyed so much that i hope they do the same fest again this year....
