My Phish Compilations

pawkfliedlice Permalink
pawkfliedlice Hello, I posted this in one other thread, but I thought I should make my own thread for this to get some publicity out. I recently started making some Phish Compilations, and some video game ones as well. I'm new here, I hail from PT, but I'm not a meanie haha. These links are legit, they should be working. Have been struggling with mediafire a bit lately but I think everything is ok now. I hope this doesn't come off as spam, I am just trying to spread the music :)

I also went to the Trey show last night. Anyone else there? Thought that the versions of Sand, Simple Twist Up Dave, Alaska, and Push on Till the Day were incredible! Had a great time.

Type it out in your browser... I noticed it happened to me too. www.phishcompilations.com

weird. Yea, I'm a UConn brah, and yea there's a September 99 compilation although it's not a full 1999 compilation

edit: is there some sort of anti-URL thing on .net? If so, I missed the memo. Looks like everything here just links to forums.phish.net/xxxxxxx. Sorry, I'm a noob hahaha

I look forward to reading these when I have a spare 6 hours.

Just kidding, but wow, there's a lot of stuff there. I skimmed through the '95 one. Nice write up. Although I will say I'm surprised at the treatment of the '95 Spectrum show. I haven't seen it reviewed as glowingly anywhere else. I'll have to relisten to that show.

SconyMack how do you link an auto-download? what i mean is: when i link a media fire file to someone, when they click on it, a download prompt appears, but you're just automatically starts downloading.

I have Mediafire Personal (the one cheaper than Mediafire Pro) and I'm pretty sure free accounts always have the prompt with an ad. Are you using the free one? If so, that's why

Love the Gin /Ghost compilations. Even though I tend to listen to set/shows rather than songs/jams it is very convenient to have. Thanks! Tweezer next?

pawkfliedlice Permalink
pawkfliedlice meh... I dunno. I did the Gin comp because I had a playlist sitting on my computer called "Hot Gins" and I just made it into a compilation. My friend is a Ghost connoisseur so I asked him to give me his favorite Ghosts. I wanted to put out a one-two punch of hosey compilations of "same songs" so I put those two out. I also sort of prefer sets and shows (actually, nice sequences are usually my go-to) over songs and jams.

For Tweezer, I don't really enjoy the composed part as much as I do with Ghost and Gin, and also it's a bit longer, I think... I would learn how to edit mp3s and crossfade with software before I tried to tackle a Tweezer comp (there's one out there somewhere). I would make it just one intro with all the jams tacked on in one big mp3. It would also be a nightmare with all the segues (see: Bomb Factory Tweezerfest), but the end-product would be incredible if done right. I'm starting to like the idea now haha maybe in the future. I would do a Reba one in that style first though probably. A well-played intro, a bunch of the best jams (92-95) cross-faded together, and a nice whistling ending.

Split Open and Melt comes to mind too, seeing as it's one of my favorite songs. I could start with 92-93 melts and meld them into 94 and eventually 99-00 melts, ending with SPAC '12. They would go from machine gun Trey to spacey playing to deconstruction/dissonance. Sounds like a lot of work haha.

btw, "Phish Annihilates the Gorge" is coming next, soon.
