I'm going to see Lotus on Saturday and noticed that Moon Hooch was opening, so I checked them out on youtube and they kick ass. It's two saxes and a drummer that create electronic dance type music with no electronics. Some of it sounds like 90's techno and some even sounds like dupstep, which I'm not into at all, but they make it sound awesome. These guys are creative as shit. Also they started out as a busking group in NYC, and are now taking stages at notable venues.
(ignore the hipsters in this vid, it's in Washington Square Park after all.
Anyway, I'll be seeing them Saturday and it should be a fun time.

They're a lot of fun live. Enjoy yourself it should be a great show all around.
Saw them at HG in Burlington last week and ended up enjoying their set more than Lotus. A very fun, high energy performance. The baritone sax adds so much too. Definitely worth checking out
good to hear, im going to see them open for Lotus tonight in Cleveland. Hopefully I get there in time to see them
Do whatever you gotta do to not miss that set. Seriously, you will thank me.
I'm catching these guys in Dallas the 15th and Austin the 14th or 16th, can't remember the ATX date. They're opening for Lotus, who I think has dropped off a bit, but still wildly entertaining. Someone needs to take the keyboard away from the bass player, fo sho.
Yes yes yes. It was my 5th lotus show last night, been seeing them for only 2 years but even in that time there sound has changed. They played newer stuff last night and it was more electronic/glitch/"dubstep" than I've ever heard them play. Not sure if I really like where they're headed. I think they're catering to the direction of the scene and its taking away from what lotus should be. But it was still one hell of a great show and I'll still see them whenever possible.

Yeah I'm super pumped.
I saw them about 2 years ago playing in Washington Square. They attracted the biggest crowd of people I have ever seen of any street musicians. They are really fun, talented, and have a great energy about them. But I agree with what someone else said about it getting repetitive after awhile. It's crazy that last year they were playing on the streets and subways and now they're opening for Lotus.

great great people. they're comin' up!
So I finally found a good video of this. Wish I was there, I was hoping they'd do this in either NYC or Brooklyn. LAst 3 mins of the video is cool as f***.
