This one took me a long time, but I think it was worth it. Because the SBD source was recorded to cassette there was a lot of time smear that needed to be corrected. It literally took me weeks to get it done! This show is kind of funny in a way, set 1 has some great highlights but the band, Trey in particular, seems a little off. First set highlights include an interesting segue from My Friend > I Didn't Know. This is my favorite version of IDK by a long shot, it's upbeat and jazzy and, if you can believe it, the vacuum solo could be described as emotional, check it out. Stash is forgettable but a flawless Tela and an "out there" It's Ice revive the set thanks to Page's hostile takeover of the jam. An "old school" Guyute offers a look at this now classic song in it's original arrangement.
I read a review somewhere (perhaps here on .Net) where the author said he loved this set 2 so much because he felt like Trey came out with something to prove--I think he was right. They destroy Vanderbilt's Memorial Gym with a crushing Bowie that exemplifies both of the dominant jamming styles the band was so famous for in 1994--machine gun in your face mastery and soaring heartfelt rises to that other place that only Phish seems to be able to reach.
Reba is another masterpiece checking in at around 18 minutes it's a good 4 to 6 minutes longer than your average Reba. This version has a split personality--it runs between the most beautiful peaks you'll find in any Reba and complete Type II mayhem.
Bela Fleck joins the band for an amazing Mule, complete with free-form jamming AND the usual Russian step dance dueling. He hangs around for Lifeboy and several bluegrass standards before the five drop one of the most interesting Llama's ever played--stating acoustic and then slowing morphing back to electric, this extended version is tight and one you'll listen to a hundred times over.
Wow, that was a lot longer than I intended.
Hope you enjoy the show.

Coming from a guy who prefers SBDs, it is an absolute TREAT when you release a new Matrix.
Your 12/31/93 is by far one of my favorite shows, and I don't think I would love it nearly as much if your MATRIX hadn't exposed me to it.
Can't wait to give this one a listen. Keep up the GREAT work as always!
@Looks2Much said:Awesome! That's the whole reason I do it. Is it normal for a 33 year old married guy to stay up until 2 every night adjusting 90 minute sets in 1-2 minute increments? Luckily they're usually easier than this one. Requests always welcome, and thanks for the kind words.
Do you have other matricies? matrixes? what ever the plural of matrix is? that I can listen to?
thank you!
@looks2much. Thanks a ton for your work man! Can't wait to listen>Yes. I did 11.28.97, the went, 12.31.93 and a few single songs by request. If you search for them on etree, there should be seeders.
