(sorry for making 2 different threads but I couldn't help but share this article)
And because he is sitting in with the candles tommorow at the Hamilton in dc and I will be there. You lucky shit.
I always thought that Bonham did not use a double-kick pedal. Confirmation, anyone?Their producer wouldn't let him. The quote goes something like "you can play faster with 1 foot than most with 2". He might have used the doubles live though.

Thanks for sharing!
Well I posted this article on FB and I got posts from Phish haters calling out the whole double bass pedel thingBonham was too good for a double kick.
And Phish haters just hate to hate.
Well I posted this article on FB and I got posts from Phish haters calling out the whole double bass pedel thingThat's dumb, the fact that he only uses one bass pedal should be indicative of how much talent he really has. Just what were they calling out exactly in terms of only using one bass pedal?

The fact that Bonham never used a double bass pedal
I've seen videos on youtube where he's got 2 bass drums on his set.I did a search and all I can see is one mallet on the kick in all the examples. A couple foot pedals are to the left, but they are for bells and what not

Like said already, there was a short period in 1969 where he had two Ludwig bass drums.

Sorry to beat this to death, but Zeppelin is indeed my shit.

edit:
But it is very true that Bonham never used double bass pedal. Haha, he was able to abide by using the above setup. It's funny how this thread played out.
^^ That's a sick picture of Fish you've got there.
Thanks, I've been after a print of it, can't find the artist.
Great article. My evidence proving that Fishman is the greatest is the NYE '95 release. IMO, the mix successfully captures all the nuances of his playing, in a particularly hot performance.Yes! I completely agree. Fishman is on FIRE that entire show. In my opinion, that is why that Reba and Mike's are so amazing. His fills are just so...perfect.
Here's the original picture, it's actually the header photo of the above article. I found that pretty awesome.Yeah I noticed that, I love what that artist did with the colors in your picture, I'd love that as a poster.
