Yeah I think you should. Lotus is a good time. I prefer their older style to what they played the last time I saw them (12/31/11) but it's still a great time.

Saw them at rothbury a few years ago. I was on really good mushrooms and i still thought they sucked. Generic as they come.

I went to see Lotus recently. My gf and I stayed for about 5 minutes and then left. It wasn't a complete waste though - I now know what deemsters smell like!

No.I've seen them twice. Last time I saw them I was pissed the whole show. The music was okay. Their old stuff is great. Their new stuff sucks major balls.
Plus the scene is disgusting. Young kids strung out on all the wrong drugs. Don't respect anyone except themselves and their buddy who is rolling so hard they are practically not human anymore.

You make a good point there. The last time I saw them I spent a good portion of the show just keeping an eye on all the K-rocked teeny boppers around me. Kept a couple from faceplanting. I also watched one seize out, saw a bunch in the medical tent......and as we were walking to the show, before it was even 10:00 pm we saw people lifting a passed out girl up over a fence.....I'm guessing to stash her out of view until the show was over or something. :facepalm: I wasn't exactly a poster child for responsible drug use myself when I was younger, but this was just something else.

A note to all, Just remember how much we all hate it when people judge Phish solely on their fans, don't get caught in the same trap with other bands.
That being said, next to Phish and Furthur, Lotus is probably my favorite touring band right now. Yes they have an electric side but most die-hard Lotus fans aren't fond of that direction. Recently they have drifting back into their older style of jamming, i.e. funkier, more prog-rock based, older tunes, and what not. 2010-2011 saw them going in a questionable electronic direction and in 2012 they have gradually moved away from that shit. I recommend anyone with the opportunity to go see them, they are tight as ever and really get the feet moving.
