I can't narrow it to one performance, his body of work needs to be viewed as a whole to understand his greatness. He has portrayed so many vastly different characters over the years, I can't think of anyone else with that kind of range. Completely un-typecast-able. He becomes his character like no one else does. You never say to yourself "That's Gary Oldman" because he becomes his role so completely. A true master of his craft.
As far as a serious answer I would have to debate with myself for at least days...
