My cousin is a freshmen in high school and just started playing guitar. He's just on the cusp of really getting into music, I can tell he's eager. One problem though; he has no way of listening to music. He doesn't even have a CD player for christ's sake. The only way he currently listens to music is through youtube. Sad, I know....
Anyway, I came across my 7 year old 5 gig mp3 player and decided to fill it with recommendations, given his credentials (more on that shortly). I want to expose him to not only innovative ways to play guitar, because he needs some influence/inspiration, but also to bands & genres that he might enjoy but wouldnt usually find in the norm. I've decided that WSP is a band he should at least be aware of.
I'm not looking for any live material or full length albums; this kid isn't into full LP's just yet. I'm just looking for 3-5 necessary Spread tracks that he would enjoy.
If it helps you get an idea of what he would be into; he has expressed interest in classic rock and his favorite band is Rush.
Thanks in advance.

He doesn't even have a CD player for christ's sake.what's wrong with this? CD's are antiquated. The only cd player i own that works is the one in my computer. Never use it.
I usually prefer WSP studio work over their live stuff. Their jamming style doesn't do it for me, though I have pretty much ignored what they've done post-Houser.
