Could they? Absolutely.

Will they? Pretty doubtful. One of those things that if they were inclined, would have already happened.

Panic en la Playa (or a potential Phish en la Playa) is anything but awful. Unless for some reason you don't like staying at an all-inclusive resort on the beach getting bombed out of your mind 24/7 w/ your best friends. Oh, and your favorite band plays at the resort on the beach (for four nights, btw), about 2 minutes away from your insanely nice room, which also has 4-liquor dispensers and a hot tub.

That's what just happened at PELP. And it was f***** awesome.

Its a nice idea and all, I just couldn't see many people commit to something like that.

I understand how that kind of money may deter some people, but I guarantee there are 3,000-3,500 Phish fans who do have that kind of money to drop on a 4-5 day vacation for Phish. Total $ for each person ranged between $1,300 and $2,200, depending on what kind of room you got.

Umphreys does this as well with their Mayan Holidaz. With meet and greats with the band and acousitc sets by the pool.

Acoustic set by the pool, ya I would go.

It would come down to whether Phish wants to do this or not. Cloud 9 is the company that puts these events on (JamCruise, Mayan Holidaze, Panic en la Playa), and they would def do one with Phish if they could come to an agreement.

There was a post on a Phish sub-board (on a Panic fan site) not too long ago that Phish's management company scoped out the first La Playa to see how it went down.
