Not much fishing here in NYC today - unless you're looking for dead dolphin in the Gowanus

I have been fishing my entire life but recently fly fishing for trout has been my main focus. I live in DC now so I spend my time fishing the spring creeks in MD and VA. No pics to upload now since I am at work.
I am moving back home to Chicago in 2 weeks so will be looking to get up into Wisconsin for some trout/steelhead/northern. @sconnieguy we should link up and do some fishing...
I need to make time this year, my son is chomping at the bit to try some fishing.

Was near 'Bajia de los muertos' ... which since has been renamed to 'bajia de los suenos' to attract tourists... go figure! That mahi mahi (dorado) isn't mine, but my brother in-law's ... was 38 lbs to my knowledge. Plenty of good fishing though down in the sea of cortez!!
That marlin took me about 4-5 hours to haul in

Got to give props to the the old man who taught me how to fish. At 65 he's still a successful tournament bass anger in our region. I partner 5-6 tourneys with him every year. Below he has a 6+ largemouth from the Chippewa Flowage in Northern Wisconsin. Also, here is one of the many lemon sharks we catch off the gulf side of Ft. Meyers Beach in March. We catch a lot bigger ones but this guy was small enough to hoist in the boat and get a pic....

@fuck_your_face, I usually hit the west-central streams for trout in the spring. Rush River etc. and always looking for someone meet on the water. Let me know when your thinking of heading that direction.
awesome fish .netThats not me - it's the Captain of the Pinwheel from the show Wicked Tuna - his mate is a Phish fan.

Well, I was going to post some photos, but the Embed Image feature does not seem to work for me. I uploaded some photos to Flickr, clicked on the Image button, pasted the link for the photo in the http field, but I got nothing. It just displays the red x Image icon instead of a photo. Can someone enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong?use copy image url from flickr. if that doesn't work, make sure the http:// isn't repeated (.net adds one for you too)
Here is an average Animas River brown

A pissed Brownie.

This is what is has been like latley....
I'll try to remember this thread and post some photos March-April when the Maumee is in full swing.
@MrJones what rod and flyline weight are you using on that lake for pike? Are you having more luck with poppers or streamers? I live on the Chippewa River in Wisco which is a champion muskie fishery. Hope to get one on a fly rig for the first time this summer. That particular rig is a 7 weight with a WF camo sink tip line. I have gotten into more pike since all on the same rig, some pretty nice fish. All streamers with that rig. Personally I only fish poppers for bass with a floating line. I know a few folks who enjoy going after Pike and I don't know that any of them throw poppers.
Good luck on the hunt for a Muskie, I hear that's a tricky fish to fool...I hope to get a chance some time.
Now I have a job.
::rethinks current situation::
got plenty of fishing pics from other parts of the year. I wish I could upload pictures straight from my desktop.....

I'm newish to trout fishing, do you know any good spots around our northwestern Wisconsin parts? this fall a few friends and I hopped streams and had decent luck, I believe we were on the Rush River, the Apple River and Chippewa. last Spring we made a killing on Perch here in Menomonie near the dam.

@Angler here is your photo. I don't know much about flickr so I can't help there, but next time try this http://i48.tinypic.com/14wy97o.jpgCool! Thanks! I tried copying the URL from Flickr and pasting it into the Embed Image feature of .net, but that didn't work. I then tried capturing the source code from Flickr and pasting it into the message, which worked in the preview (showed the image), but then only displayed the code when I actually posted it. I'll try Tinypic next time.
@SconnieGuy said:@Purple_Humpback_Whale so were you on Lake Menomin when you were ice fishing? I drive by there quite a bit from EC and am noticing more and more ice shacks out there.http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/252250_4023974953162_1049103571_n.jpgnice looking trout! I am on the Rush quite a bit for trout in the Spring. It's my favorite stream in Wisco followed by the Bois Brule way up by Superior.
I PM'd you some more details on good trout fishing near by.

BluefishOne of the most enjoyable fish to catch on the east coast as they put up a great fight for their size. Eating, not so much.
