Happy tuesday .Netters. On this tuesday I give you my lastest post from this afternoon "The Presence Of Others (Part One)" which touches upon Phish's ability to maintain the energy they create, and how that differentiates with having guests join the band on the sacred plateaus.
You can see the rest of my posts on http://obliviousfool.jux.com.
This is the first of a 3 part post. The remaining two should be up in due time.
Thanks a lot guys.
Hearing rumors of a TAB April tour BTW. Keep your eyes peeled (;
on another note: never seen a MGB show so I'm definitely overdue. Hoping some dates on this as well...
"The Aquarium Rescue Unit joins during the jam in “You Enjoy Myself,” which seems to be a song that they only let seriously talented musicians take a swing at. Including times with Dave Grippo, John Popper, Giant Country Horns, Carlos Santana, Béla Fleck & The Flecktones and plenty of others. This version with the ARU though, has to be one of the most exploratory jams Phish has ever played, and that is saying a lot. It pushed this from an already 4 star excellent show, to a 5 star must hear. They were running with the ball all show, and it wasn't until this "You Enjoy Myself" that they took a huge leap and gave an electrifying slam dunk. New paths are taken in directions rarely seen. Megaphone madness with a side of sauce. With a very rhythmic and percussive feel to it, the groove gets rode down to the bone. It contains some of the most ear-pleasing guitar interplay between Trey and Jimmy Herring. Plenty of fun is displayed, and having the Aquarium Rescue Unit almost feels like what should be in stone."
And yes I know they played with Billy K in 09 but that was a while ago already.
Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
I would love to see them pull out someone for a whole second set who they can just get down with. Like Lesh and Kimock hahahaha.

We need more sit-ins. The Kenny Rogers one did not interest me in the slightest. What happened to the awesome musical guests like Haynes, the Flecktones, Trucks, and others. Thats one thing thats amazing about the Allman Bros Beacon runs, they have interesting guests almost every night like Clapton a couple years back. Is Phish no longer interested in sharing the stage and seeing what happens?that Allmans show with the Clapton set was most wild thing out there. granted, i'm not a huge Warren Haynes fan, but him, Trucks and Clapton was guitar god overload. Watching Haynes and Trucks try to impress Clapton, while Clapton does his usual sit back--shred calmly routine, those guys were in awe, which that was the cool part.
